Some more quality albums have hit the market for Ganesh Chaturthi...

GANESH BHAJANS —Universal, Rs. 45
One of the best releases for Ganesh Chaturthi, this album has 10 bhajans in Hindi by leading singers Asha Bhosle, Mahendra Kapoor, Anup Jalota and Anuradha Paudwal. Side A has Jai Ganesh; Archana karo, Jai Ganpati jai Gan Nayak; Man tu kyon bharmaya and Are nacho jhoomo. On Side B you get to hear Hey Riddhi Siddhi ke Daata; Ganpati O Deva; Hey Gajanand Anandkand; Ganpati Bappa gaon chale and Jai Ganesh.

VISHWA VINAYAKA — Times Music, Rs. 65
The album has been described as a divine symphony in praise of Lord Ganesh. Also it is a first of its kind. For the first time in the history of recorded music, traditional Ganesh shlokas, stotras and stutis have been recited against the musical backdrop of a symphony orchestra. The album stresses the fact that "music is the language of Gods," and features S.P. Balasubramaniam and Shankar Mahadevan. Pranamya Shirasa Devam, Shree Ganeshay Dheemahi, Shree Ganapati Atharvashirsha, Shree Ganesh Chalisa and Sukhakarta Dukhaharta have never sounded so great before. Sequencing and programming has been done superbly by Ajay. An innovative album and a great buy.

KARU NAMAN SHREE LA — Zee Records, Rs. 35
Upcoming composer Amod Juvekar has composed the music for this album, which has eight bhajans penned by Mohan Samant. Singers Vaishali Samant, Tyagraj Khadilkar and Pankaj Joshi have done a good job. Shree Ganesh aahwaan, Mantra pushpanjali, Vighnesha tuz namo and Ganpati nachto are the pick of the lot.

SHREE ASHTAVINAYAK DARSHAN — Zee Records, Rs. 35
This devotional album is based on a unique concept. Each song here is devoted to a specific Ganpati of the Ashtavinayak. For example, one song is on Shree Sidhivinayaka of Siddhatek, while another is devoted to Shree Maha Ganpati of Ranjangaon. Listening to each bhajan is like going on a visit to the holy shrine. Popular singers Ravindra Sathe, Ravindra Bijoor, Aparna Mayekar, Uttara Kelkar and Suhasini Nandgaonkar have sung the bhajans. Aniruddha Kale is the composer, while lyrics have been penned by Shantaram Nandgaonkar, Damodar Shirvale and Chandrakant Darpe.

NAVSACHA GANPATI — Zee Records, Rs. 35
The album has been written and produced by Arun Bhoir. Shrikant Narayan, Santosh Nayak and Shakuntala Jadhav are the singers here, and the songs have been composed in koligeet style. Bappa dhav ra kolyancha navsala pav ra, Wazat gazat Ganpati aala and Titwalacha Maha Ganpati, an ode to the famous Ganesh temple in Titwala, are bound to click in a big way. Music has been composed by Arun Bhoir and Lalit Dakhne.

SHREE GANRAYACHI GAAZLELI BHAKTI GEETE — Zee Records, Rs. 35
As the title suggests, the album compiles popular bhakti geet on Lord Ganesh, in cover versions. There are 10 numbers in all, arranged by Aniruddha Kale. Some of the songs featured include Omkaar Swaroopa, Gajanana Shree Ganraya, Utha utha ho sakalik and Tuz magato mi aata to name some. Ravindra Bijoor, Uttara Kelkar, Swapnil Bandodkar, Aparna Mayekar and Anjali Nandgaonkar are the singers.

SHREE GANESH YATHASANG PUJA VA AARTYA — Zee Records, Rs. 35
An album which assumes great importance since it has the traditional Ganpati aartis, and a complete vidhi of performing Shree Ganesh pooja. Shree Atul Vishnu Gangal Guruji has recited the pooja, while Ravindra Bijoor amd Uttara Kelkar have sung the aartis. Aniruddha Kale is the composer.

AARTI SANGRAHA — T-Series, Rs. 42 (two cassettes)
A must-buy here since you get to hear the complete aarti collection in the voice of Anuradha Paudwal. Music is by the late Arun Paudwal. Side A has the popular Sukhakarta Dukhaharta, Yei ho Vitthale, Aarti Saibaba, Sai digambara and Jaidev Datta Avdhuta, while on Side B you get to hear Satrane uddane, Hari naam god zhale, Yuge atthavees and Ghalin lotangan. With this album, you get one album free of the pooja-vidhi.

GANPATI VANDANA — T-Series, Rs. 42
What you get to hear in this album is a compilation of film songs devoted to Lord Ganesh. That’s a different idea for sure. Deva ho deva Ganpati deva from Humse Badhkar Kaun; Ganpati morya from Marte Dum Tak; Mere man mandir mein tum Bhagwan rahe from Dard Ka Rishta; Mangalmurti Morya from Bekhabar; Deva ho deva from Ilaka; and Jisne tera naam liya from Kaalchakra are among the songs featured here. Some of them are cover versions. This album too comes with a free bonus cassette.

GANPATI GHAR AAYE — BMG Crescendo-NA Classical, Rs. 35
The album has bhajans in Hindi composed by Sudesh and Milind, and penned by Sanam. The singers are Ratan Mohan Sharma, Shweta Pandit, Bela Sulakhe, Sanjay Sawant, Sudesh and Mausami Mukherjee. Moos pe hoke sawar; He Gauri aankhonka; Gaale gaale manva; Kalyan karo kalyan and Dhyan-mantra by Ratan Mohan Sharma will appeal to the devouts.

25 NON-STOP GANPATI BAPPA — Musicraft, Rs. 30
This remix album features 25 songs on Lord Ganpati. Music by Nilesh Garud is different. Arvind Wadekar, Ambadas Ambalkar, Ganesh Pavse, Sandeep Borse, Dinesh Kumar, Vaishali Jadhav, Priya Devkar and Archana Devre have rendered the songs. Pahili majhi ovi ga, Majhya Deva, Majhya Gajanana and Ganpaticha san are among the interesting songs on Side A, while all the songs from Side B, namely Ganpati Bappa morya, Mazha Ganpati aala, Gana ha nachla, Kar donhi ani teesre, Mee nashwar nashwar, Ganacha darshan gheu dya ki ra, Navsala paav, Gana mazha Ishwar, Pujiti aamhi priya, are appealing
