The
human side of policemen
Inspired
by the worldwide hit serial NYPD Blue, In House Productions will
present C.O.P.S., a drama on the psyche of a policeman. Perhaps
for the first time on the Indian small screen, heres a serial
which takes a positive look at their role, aspirations and dreams.
Directed by Shahab Shamsi for producer Anirudhya Mitra, the story
revolves around the stress of their jobs and its impact on their
personal life. It tells the story of the making of a police officer.
The makers claim "its not a thriller," adding that,
"the police have a very bad name in public, which is not fair.
Tell us, if they were all corrupt, how would they survive. C.O.P.S.
is not a glorification of police, its a narration of their
real life. As cops, they are also concerned with a girls reputation
who is gang-raped. We are sure, once the serial is on air, it will
be loved by all the law-abiding citizens." Irfaan Khan, Iravati
Harshe, Ayesha Menon, Milind Wagh, Abhimany and Mandip Bhullar play
lead roles.

American Pie on Star Movies
Star Movies will present American Pie on June 29 at 9.30
p.m. The film is a sex comedy which takes a very bold and realistic
look at the wild aspirations and fantasies of the American teenager.
The story revolves around a group of friends, fed up with their
well-deserved reputations as sexual no-hitters, decide to take action.
Each of them tries a different but equally outrageous approach to
score with the female sex, who are also just anxious but equally
confused, trying to act cool. American Pie became the comedy hit
of the summer of 1999. "We all felt that there hadnt
been a really good teen comedy since we were kids and wed
talked for a long time about how we would love to make one and we
wanted to shoot it R-rated," explains Warren Zide who has produced
the film along with Craig Perry for Zide-perry Films. "To write
a movie about sex and not have it be R-rated, you are not giving
your audience enough credit," says writer Adam Hertz. The film
was shot on locations across Los Angeles.
From Long Beach to downtown, from a lakeside cottage in Westlake
village to soundstages in Sun Valley. Jason Biggs, Chris Klein,
Thomas Ian Nicholas, Shannon Elizabeth, Mena Suvari, Seann Scott,
Alyson Hannigan, Tara Reid and Natasha Lyonne have come with mind-blowing
performance.
