Rajnikant’s daughter to act
Aishwarya, the eldest daughter of Rajnikant, has stated that she will not do the regular run-of-the-mill kind of roles in films nor will she run around trees. She said that she will probably take up a course in direction and try and be different. She is now giving Bharat Natyam performances on stage and is a major attraction being the superstar’s daughter.

Love affair made public
Raju Sundaram, the topnotch choreographer and brother of Prabhu Deva, has been signed opposite Simran by director Manoj Kumar for his next film I Love You Da to be directed by Rajkumar, one time associate of Manoj who recently directed and produced the Arjun-starrer Vanavil.

The casting created a stir in the film circles since Simran had made public her love affair with Raju and said that marriage was on the cards. Both of them had avoided signing films together. The love affair started on the sets of Ethirum Puthirum in which Simran did a dance number along with Raju.

Old wine in a new bottle
Rasaleela, the superhit film starring Kamal Hasan-Jayaprada in the lead and made 28 years ago, is coming in a new form with Vetri and Hema as the lead pair along with Shakeela. The Malayalam film produced nearly three decades back had direction by Sankaran Nair. It is now directed by Roshan and has script by Sankaran Nair. It is produced by KC Combines. It has to be seen whether the same magic will be captured by the new pair.

Poornachandra Rao’s Dil
Poornachandra Rao, producer of many successful Hindi and Tamil films like Naan Sigappu Manithan, Athisya Piravi, Aakhri Raasta, Andha Kanoon and John Johny Janardhan has so far produced 65 films. He now comes back to films with Dil, starring Vikram and Laila in the lead. Ashish Vidyarthi and stunt master Vijayan form the other cast.
Produced under the banner of Laxmi Productions, the film has cinematography by Gopinath, associate to Rajiv Menon and music by Vidyasagar.

Ajith-Viknesh team
Ajith and Viknesh come together in Enay Thallatu Varuvanna, directed by KS Ravindran. It is produced by Vedimuthu under the banner of Muthalaya. Reshma plays the female lead and Amar-Sidiq, the bad man of Hindi films, makes his debut in this film.

K Balu’s next
K Balu’s next venture is Thambiudayan, starring Sarath Kumar and Prabhu Deva. Devyani plays the female lead opposite Sarath Kumar while the search for another leading lady is on. Bharathi, who earlier directed Marumalarchi and Kalluazhagar directs this film which has music by SA Rajkumar and cinematography by Kichas.
