Nimbus launches Marathi film

Nimbus, which has produced several popular TV serials, has entered the field of Marathi film production. Its first film is titled Ek Hoti Waadi, which had a musical launch in Mumbai recently. Being produced under the banner of Nimbus Motion Pictures by Akash Khurana, it will be directed by Ajay Phansekar, of Raatra Aarambh fame. Laxman Joshi has written the story of the film said to be a realistic thriller-cum-court room saga with social connotations. The screenplay and dialogues have been written by director Ajay Phansekar.

A new team of music directors, Arvind-Nirmal, has tuned the lyrics written by Sanjay Churmure, Rajan Bane and Vitthal Umap. There are five songs in the film which have been rendered by Suresh Wadkar, Ravindra Sathe, Vitthal Umap, Sadhana Sargam and Bhairavi Kumble. To be cinematographed by B Laxman, it will be edited by Arun-Shekhar and will have art by Sudhir Tarkar and audiography by Jaychander.

The star cast is headed by Shivaji Satam, Reema, Dilip Kulkarni, Sheetal Kshirsagar, Rajan Tamhane, Satish Salagare, Vimal Mhatre, Chandu Belosekar and Dilip Prabhavalkar.

Ek Hoti Waadi is expected to mount the sets soon and will be filmed in Mumbai, Pune and Kolhapur. The producers plan to complete the entire filming in two months.

Kulaswamini Tulajabhavani set for Gudhi Padwa release
Asaka Films’ devotional offering Kulaswamini Tulajabhavani directed by Janardan Parab for producer M Arif is scheduled to be released at the Chhaya cinema in Solapur on and from the auspicious Gudhi Padwa Day, March 26.
The story of the film has been written by the producer himself, while the screenplay and dialogues have been penned by Ram-Vishwas. Lyrics by Jagdish Khebudkar have been set to music by Nandu Honap. Madhu Kambikar, Usha Nadkarni, Janardan Parab, Chetan Dalvi, Jaywant Patekar, Sanjay Wankhede, newcomers Sachin Vaidya and Seema Shinde and Sandhya Velankar form the cast of the film. Laxmikant Berde appears in a Gondhali dance. Cinematography by Patni Brothers, editing by IM Kunnu, audiography by Dilip Sawant, art by Tushar Gupte and choreography by Narendra Pandit are the major technical credits.

Sattadheesh released at Kolhapur
Shraddha Films’ Sattadheesh has been released at the Shahu cinema in Kolhapur from March 16 and is scheduled for release at the Kalpana in Ichalkarnji from March 23 and at the Anand in Sangli from March 30. (The film was released in Pune in January but is yet to open in Mumbai).
The story of the film with political connotations has been written by Anant Tibile and the screenplay and dialogues by Pratap Gangawane. Directed by Yashwant Bhalkar and produced by Lata Jadhav, the film has been cinematographed by Prakash Shinde and edited by Vijay Khochikar. Lyrics by Jagdish Khebudkar and Baba Soudagar have been set to music by Achyut Thakur. It stars Aishwarya Narkar, newcomer Pravin Patil, Kuldip Pawar, Ravi Patwardhan, Rajshekhar, Shyam Nadkarni, Dr Sharad Bhutadia, Shobha Shiralkar and Babanrao Gholap in a guest role.
