Nadeem not to be extradited
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Reuters
The upper house of British Parliament, House of Lords, has
rejected the plea of the Indian Government to extradite music
director Nadeem for his alleged involvement in the Gulshan
Kumar murder case.
Nadeem is currently living in the UK as a free man. The rejection
of extradition is a big setback for the Mumbai police as they
have been pursuing the case quite vigorously so that the music
director could be brought to stand trial in India.
Nadeem talking to a private news channel appeared to be happy
and relieved by the verdict. He said that his innocence was
vindicated by the ruling. Asked whether he wished to come
back to the country, he said If I get a fair trial,
I definitely will. But how can I when they are trying to frame
me for a crime I havent committed?. However I am an
Indian and would love to be always in India.
