BY ASHWIN

MUMBAI: After 22 years, more than 100 million album sales to their credit, just one band has managed to stay together and create fabulous music. The U2 Group MTV salutes U2 as MTV Most Wanted Artiste for the month. The boys from Dublin, who've done it all and are doing some more right here on MTV for a whole month. Chosen for their originality, spunk and extraordinary music, U2 can keep you enthralled all the way.

Through exclusive programming, our viewers get a peek into their lives, inspirations, and glimpses of the person behind the face and of course hear their great music. "

Formed in 1978, U2 with their politically motivated music have gone beyond their contemporaries. Being named Band of the Year by Rolling Stones in 1983 and then touted as "Rock's Hottest Ticket" on the cover of Time magazine. Their fifth album, 'The Joshua Tree' won the distinction of the fastest-selling UK album ever by going platinum within the first 48 hours on sale. Winning Grammy's in each of the three categories in which it was nominated at this year's Awards was just another feather in their cap, bringing their count to 10.
