Chori
Chori holds on at 91%
THE threat of the Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal as
also the Shiv Sena to disrupt the screenings of Chori Chori
Chupke Chupke has not hampered its performance at the box-office,
where it has appreciated largely by women. Since examinations
in schools and colleges are still going on, it is understandable
that the film has done good business in Mumbai and average
business at other centres. On the 8th day, its collections
climbed to 91 per cent from 84 per cent, indicating that the
film may well retain its lead in the second week. However,
the business of other releases of this and previous weeks
remain unsatisfactory. Distributors are living on hope that
in coming weeks, when big star cast films like Chhupa Rustom
and One Two Ka Four are released, the business of films will
improve.
