Second time lucky?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ROHIT KHILNANI

In your next film, Shararat, you play a rich, spoilt brat who has no respect for anybody. How different is this character from the real you?

I'm totally different! There's no similarity between this character and me. The guy I play is extremely disrespectful and disobedient. I'm definitely not like that.
You had three releases last year. Have you changed considerably since your first year in the movies?
Yes, I've lost a bit of weight, I've grown my hair (laughs)... Frankly speaking, I feel slightly more experienced since I was very raw, very new when those films came. I didn't know what was going on in terms of the technique of acting. I think I have picked up a bit of that. I'm learning something new everyday and trying to change everyday.

Refugee, Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa and Dhai Akshar Prem Ke were all box-office disasters. Shouldn't you be a little more careful while choosing scripts?
Let me tell you, I'm extremely choosy about my scripts. But you have to understand that nobody can predict what is going to happen at the box-office. You have to go with your gut instinct. I wanted to do all the three films that I have done, I enjoyed doing them, and I still stand by each one of those films although they were dubbed "non-successful".

Do you have a dream role?
I really don't know what my dream role will be like. I need to be a little more experienced before I'm able to decide what I badly want to do. n Given the choice, which one of your dad's roles would you like to play? I'd love to play Vijay Dinanath Chauhan from Agnipath. To be honest, I'd want to play roles from all his films, but if I could choose just one it would have to be the one in Agnipath.

At an awards function recently, both your mum and dad walked home with awards. Did you feel a little left out..?
Not at all. In fact, you should have seen us leaving; my parents didn't carry their trophies. I was the one holding both their awards, so I was very happy.
