TIE, a Silicon Valley-based charitable institution is organising a fund-raiser for the quake hit in Gujarat. And Shabana’s been invited as chief guest, in honour of her credentials as celebrity, MP and activist. Among other distinguished guests is Clinton.


*** BR CHOPRA TO RETURN: For admirers of BR CHOPRA, here’s some good news: the veteran showman is capping a fairly long sabbatical from filmmaking with an emphatic return. The details of the new project are bing worked out.

 


*** A YEAR WITH NO HOLI: Taking a leaf out of the prime minister’s book, the film industry, has, almost collectively, decided not to celebrate Holi this year, as a mark of solidarity with the earthquake hit in Guijarat.

 


*** NANA TO DIRECT: Producer Dilip Dhanwani has confirmed the news that he has signed Nana Patekar to direct his next film, slated to go on the floors in August.


*** SHETTY IN MALAYALAM FILM: Priyadarshan has signed Sunil Shetty to pkay a crucial role in a Malayalam film, a Mohan Lal starrer. The film, reportedly, is almost complete, but for Shetty’s portions.


*** DHIRUBHAI SHAH’S VCD: DHIRUBHAI SHAH has brought out a VCD on behalf of the Vagad Medical Relief Trust, capturing glimpses of the vast devastation caused by the earthquake in Gujarat. The 30-minute VCD costs Rs 100 and is intended to generate funds for the relief of those affected by the quake
