MUMBAI: Police was maintaining a strict vigilat city theatres in view of the release of controversial film "Chori Chori Chupke Chupke" today even as its producer Nasim Rizvi and financier Bharat Shah were brought to a special court in a case of alleged nexus with the underworld.

Rizvi's assistant Abdul Rahim Allah Baksh would also be produced in the afternoon before designated judge A P Bhangale who shall remand him, Rizvi and Shah to judicial custody for a further period.

The chargesheet, running into 1200 pages, is ready. The investigating officer came to the court along with its copies. It would be filed this afternoon. The chargesheet contains statements of about 90 witnesses, including Bollywood personalities.

As a precautionary measure, adequate security was being maintained at theatres screening the film in view of reports of alleged threat given by organisations who objected to its release on the ground that it was financed by the underworld.

Rizvi and Shah had individually staked their claim on the film saying they were entitled to release it. The police had opposed the release until the trial in this case was over.

The court, however, appointed well known distributor Santosh Singh Jain as the court receiver to release the film worldwide and collect the proceeds thereof. At the end of the trial, the money would be handed over to the real claimant.

So far, the court receiver has collected Rs. 10.5 crore inaddition to Rs. 4.5 crore earned by Shah in the under production stage.
