BPL Mobile launches chatrooms on mobile phone
BPL Mobile
Communications Ltd., Mumbais premier mobilephone service
provider has launched Indias first Wireless Internet
Chat Service - miChat for BPL Mobile subscribers in Mumbai.
This service allows BPL Mobile subscribers to enter into virtual
chatrooms and chat with other subscribers. Targeted at the
young adults and late teens segment, this application,
based on the SMS platform enables Mobile Chats. This ensures
that the service is available to all subscribers without a
change in their handsets. The technology behind this service
has been provided by iSolv, a wireless applications company
from Pune.
Speaking at the launch, B.P. Singh, Chief Operating Officer,
BPL Mobile, Mumbai said, BPL Mobile has played a significant
role in furthering usage of mobile phones in India. As a leader
in its field BPL Mobile has consistently been providing unique
applications to its customers. With our technological strengths
we are in a position to constantly explore new frontiers of
mobile applications and share the same with our customers.
Chatting on the net has emerged as the most popular net application
today. Estimated at 3.5 million users today, its expected
to grow at a staggering 100% annually. Milind Agnihotiri,

is all about Save Time or Kill Time applications.
While the Save Time applications provides productivity
improvement through on-the-go access to Corporate Emails or
Databases, the Kill Time applications provide
fun and entertainment like miChat. Bringing such services

Using miChat is extremely simple. A user can log in with any
assumed name into any public chat rooms available across a
range of subjects. With an identity chosen on the fly, the

or send private messages and switching of chat rooms can be
done at will.
