Divya Unni in Nilaavinte Kaiyyoppu

Since Divya Unni is very busy with Tamil films these days, it has been a long time since a Malayalam film of hers was released. Of course, her Nakshatrangal Parayaathirunnathu is slated for release soon. She is also to star soon in Nilaavinte Kaiyyoppu, produced under the banner of MK Movies and directed by Sooryan. The film, to be made simultaneously in Tamil and Malayalam, will have script by Thomas and will star Vignesh, Baburaj and Nalini. The lyrics by S Rameshan Nair have been set to tune by SP Venkatesh. The pooja and recording of the film was conducted recently at Chennai.


Urvashi out of Satyan Anthicaud’s film
Though it was earlier announced that Urvashi was to make a comeback with Satyan Anthicaud’s latest venture, the actress has recently announced her decision to opt out of the film. She has stated that it is because of some personal reasons that she is unable to do the film. The film, to be produced by Carlton Films, has script by Sreenivasan and has teenage sensation Kunchacko Boban in the lead.


Abbas again in Malayalam

Tamil sensation, Abbas, who had earlier done two Malayalam films, Kannezhuthi Pottumthottu and Dreams is now again preparing himself for another film in Malayalam. The film Rajapattam, scripted and directed by Mohandas, is produced under the banner of Mother Indus Movies. Also in the cast are Harisri Ashokan, Rajan P Dev, NF Verghese, Cochin Haneefa, Indrans, Augustine, Kaveri, Lena, Zeenath and Valsala Menon. Songs penned by S Rameshan Nair have been set to tune by Bernie-Ignatious.


MT to make aN English film
Noted writer, Jnanpith Award winner and filmmaker MT Vasudevan Nair, whose latest venture Oru Cheru Punchiry is yet to be released commercially (though it has already been premiered on Asianet), is to make a film in English. The film would be based on a story by MT himself and will be shot in Germany. The cast is yet to be decided.
