Celeb watch
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MOHAMMED
WAJIHUDDIN
Renuka
Shahane -- who became a celebrity, thanks to Surabhi and serials
like Kora Kagaaz is not much impressed by the quality of soap
operas on TV. She rarely watches Hindi serials. "They
are too boring and similar," she says, and never watches
her own serials. "I would rather utilise the time to
watch good programmes presented by others. I don't want to
get bored watching my own face," she laughs.
There are few serials which hold her interest though, and
one of them is the story-based Rishtey on Zee and she also
likes to watch Director's Cut on Star Gold. Her favourite
channel, however, is the National Geographic, for the animal
world fascinates her and the channel takes her to places she
would love to go. "Whenever I have time I watch it."
Shahane also favours Discovery Channel, and her particular
favourite is Medical Detectives and Profile, which she feels
are informative and extremely interesting and gripping.
Another
must-watch is the current favourite Friends, on Star World,
and she also tunes into Practice, on the same channel. Shahane
has not escaped the Crorepati bug either. She avidly watches
Kaun Banega Crorepati, and prefers to switch on Star News
to keep her updated.
Shahane,
who started her career with a serial called PC Aur Mausi 15
years ago, became a household name when she presented Surabhi
with Sidharth Kak.
