Celeb count
Come February and it's time for that Congressman from Andhra, T Subbirami Reddy, to flaunt his influence in Mumbai. This he does by celebrating his wedding anniversary (February 6) at the Taj Ballroom where he collects the Mumbai glitterati. This year, too, they were all there: bankers, financiers, politicians and stars, though Bollywood which is normally well-represented was not so much in evidence just Manisha Koirala, looking ravishing in an all-black attire, Sunil Shetty and Shekhar Suman, wearing a T-shirt about half his normal size to showcase his new muscleman image, cultivated for an upcoming movie. Notable among the absentees was Shoba De, who was last year very amused with the not-so-slick publicity machine of Reddy and even wrote about it in her daily column in not-so-flattering terms.

And finally...

With Jaya Bachchan, Rati Agnihotri and the like returning to the spotlight after long hibernations, the latest heroine-turned-housewife being badgered with acting offers is lovely Neetu Kapoor. The Kapoor bahu is very seriously considering an offer from a leading television channel to do a Hindi version of the hit Tim Allen-show, Home Improvement. Husband Rishi Kapoor says Neetu's been pestering him to do the show with her, and he says he probably will. Excited about her return to acting, Rishi says he ain't no MCP who'd rather have his wife run the home. "Both our kids are studying abroad, so if Neetu thinks this will keep her busy I have no problem with it," he says.
