Chehra Maut Ka
Gee Vee Films Combines’ Chehra Maut Ka was recently censored with an ‘A’ certificate and the film is due for release all over on February 19. Being produced NC Vasani and directed by Indar Kumar Gupta, the film stars Rani Sinha, Mamta Singh, Bhavana, Sonia, Kripali, Chetan Kumar, Juggal Nayak, Dev Dutt, Prashant Jaiswal, Purshottam, Mahesh Raaj, Janardhan Mishra, Dinesh Bagdi, Budhdeo, Kishore Bhanushali, Birbal, Ghanshyam, Mac Mohan and Kiran Kumar. It has story by JK Ahuja, cinematography by Naren Gedia and Tapan, action by Riaz-Sultan, art by Baban Bavelekar, choreography by Sailesh Koli, editing by Prakash Kothare, lyrics by Pradeep Trivedi and Taj Akhtar and music by KN Jha.

Joshe Jawani

Sabal Singh Films’ Joshe Jawani was censored recently. Produced by Dharamji Bedi and directed by Anil Shambtu, it has music by Sawan Kumar Sawan, lyrics by Vidya and cinematography by Nandu Chaudhary. Bunty, Meenakshi, Ajit Vachhani, Asha Sharma, Kishore Bhanushali, Nilofar, Rakesh Bedi, Shagufta and Goga Kapoor are in cast of the film.

Woh Kaun Thi

The Millennium Films International’s Woh Kaun Thi was censored recently. The film is produced by Gurmeet Singh and S Vilas and directed by Amreet Pal and has music by Vijaya Ajeet and cinematography by Heera Surroch. Starring Chetan Shah, Rimple Bhatnagar, Toshi, Raza Murad, Sanjay Sharma, Mack Mohan, Kavita, Yunus Parvez, Jennifer, Gopi Bhalla, Rana Jung Bhadur and Amreet Pal, the film is schedule for release in February 2001.


SHOOTING


Dabang

First five-day shooting schedule of Poonam Films Combine’s Dabang was completed from January 19 to 23 at AAA Studio, Nimish Bunglow and locales of Mumbai. The film is produced by Mrs. Poonam. Written and directed by Shyam Sonie, the film has music by Kanwar Bharti, lyrics by Ravi Chopra and Satya Prakash, cinematography by Hasmukh Rajput, sound by RK Gupta, action by Ilyas Shaikh and editing by Arun Shekhar. Vinod H. Bhatia is the co-producer of the film which stars Sandeep Bedi, Loppa Khurana, Rahul Singh, Mohini Manek, Ramesh Guchia, Veena Kapoor, Jitu Verma, Hemant, Ali Khan, Ashok Verma, Lalitesh, Alok Yadav, Anup Tanwar, Mahesh Raj, Anu Shah, Baby Rani Karishma, Raja Hasan, Lalit Tiwari and Kiran Kumar. Music director Kanwar Bharti has already recorded two songs in voices of Kumar Sanu, Anupama Savant, Raja Hasan and Anandita. Another ten-day spell will commence in Nasik from February 9.

Bubby Kent’s Prod. No. 7 progresses

Producer Bubby Kent and director KS Adhiyaman commenced another week-long shooting stint for their Karishma International’s Prod. No. 7 on a huge set erected at Filmalaya Studios from January 24. The film is also being shot at Kamalistan Studios, Hotel Centaur and other locales of Mumbai. The film stars Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty in the lead. Based on a story by KS Adhiyaman himself, the film has screenplay-dialogue by Rumi Jaffrey, cinematography by W.B. Rao, action by Mahendra Varma, art by R. Varman, sound by Ijaz Ahmed and editing by D.N. Nasik. Ajay Paul is the executive producer and Lucky Sharma is the co-ordinating producer of the film.

Kasam Se in Pune
Producer Pammi Sandhu and director Kundan Shah commenced another week-long shooting stint for Sai Trinetra Arts Kasam Se at Pune from January 23. A song on lead pairs Sunil Shetty and Raveena Tandon and many other romantic, dramatic and thrilling scenes are being picturised. The film also stars Shekhar Suman, Isha Khopikar, Asrani, Deepak Shirke, Makrand Deshpande, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Shakti Kapoor and Gulshan Grover. Being written by Dilip Shukla, the film has cinematography by Dharam Teja, action by Sham Kaushal, choreography by Jojo, art by Wasiq Khan, lyrics by late Majrooh Sultanpuri-Devi Kohli and music by Anand Raj Anand.

Pyaasa
back from Shimla
The entire unit of producer Ramesh Sharma and director A. Muthu’s, Triple Aar Movies’ Pyaasa returned on January 21, after completing a 20-days marathon shooting spell in Shimla and Kulu-Manali. Three songs and many other romantic, dramatic and emotional scenes were canned in the picturesque valley. The film introduces Miss World ’99, Yukta Mookhey opposite Aftab Shivdasani with new find Sayed Zulfi the lead. The film also stars Govind Namdeo, Anang Desai, Sanjay Narvekar, Smita Jaykar, Arif Zakaria, Mukesh Tiwari and Akhilendra Mishra. Based on a story by Ikram Akhtar, the film has screenplay by Sanjeev Duggal, dialogue by Shankar Iyer, cinematography by Harmeet Singh, action by Bhiku Varma and Pappu Varma, choreography by B.H. Tharun Kumar, art by Gayatri Marwah, sound by Jagmohan Anand, editing by Sachin, lyrics by Faaiz Anwar and music by Sanjeev Darshan.

Dafan

Editor-producer-director Jitendra Chawda complered a day patchwork shooting on January 27 for Ishwar Films’ Dafan held at Surve Farm, Panvel. During the stint, climax and talkie portion were canned. All the artistes including Mohan Joshi, Raza Murad, Shiva Prithvi, Gurubachchan Singh, Deepak Shirke, Anil Nagrath, Amit Pachori, Satnam Kaur and Poonamdas Gupta participated. Story by Basheer Babbar, music by Sawan Kumar Sawan, action by Riyaz Sultan, sound by Shafique and art by Anjani Tiwari are other credits.

Dark Night
The first copy of Venus Films Creation’s Dark Night was out recently from Rauko Labs. The film in schedule for release soon. Starring Rajiv Raj, Malashree, Yogini Rawal, Raza Murad, Ramesh Goel, Mac Mohan, Dev Malhotra, Sheetal Soni and Biswajeet, the film is produced by Karandeep Singh and directed by Mehmood Khan. It has music by Shastri D, cinematography by Lokesh Bhatia and editing by Tarsen Bandhan.

Killer

The first copy of Om Ganesh Pictures maiden venture Killer was out on January 24 from Ramnord Lab. A musical murder mystery, the film introduces Rahul Bhatt and Amnik Sandhu in the romantic lead. Jointly produced by Ajay Paul, Lucky Sharma and Sudhir Vahi, the film is directed by Suraj Prakash and has lyrics by Rani Malik and Yogesh with music by Nikhil-Vinay.

Pyar To Hota Hai Pyar
Well-known fight master Mohan Baggad turned director with his home productions Pyar To Hota Hai Pyar, being made under the banner of M.M. Productions. The film was launched on January 21, at the Police Ground at Jogeshwari amidst a huge gathering. Vijay Avlani broke the auspicious coconut while with KD Shorey sounding the clapper board. Rajeev Kaul switched on the camera and Praful Parekh directed the muhurat shot on romantic pair Abbas and Ashima Bhalla. The launching was followed by a week-long shooting stint at Chandivali and Kamalistan Studios and various other locales of Mumbai. The film also stars Om Puri, Gulshan Grover, Reema Lagoo, Avtaar Gill, Upsasna Singh, Vivek Shaque, Sameer Kang and Manek Bedi, for the first time in a negative role. Story by Rajeev Kaul-Praful Parekh, dialogues by Madan Joshi, cinematography by Kaka Thakur, art by Sachin Roy, action by Mohan Baggadd himself, sound by Pradeep Suri, lyrics by Sameer and music by Nadeem-Shravan are other major credits. The music rights of the film is vested with HMV.

Love In Canada
Producer Sharafuddin B. Shaikh has announced Love In Canada to be made under the banner of Zishaan International. The film will be shot in and around Canada. It will be directed by Chandra Mohan Nilley. In the meanwhile main star cast and other credits are being finalised. Love In Canada will be launched in April, 2001.

 

Mammooty in Daku Veerappan
Mammootty, super-star of South, plays the role of a collector in Daku Veerappan which is inspired from the life and times of the sandalwood smuggler Veerappan. Directed by VC Ramani, the film stars Radhika (from South), Simran, Charanraj and Napolean. Being produced by Dinesh Salgia, the film is all set for release on February 16. It has story by N Maharajan, dialogue by Venukumari, lyrics by Sanjeev Kohli, music by Vidyasagar, action by Rocky Rajesh, choreography by Raju Sunderam - Kalyan and editing by Rama Rao.
