 What
is love? A simple question that still remains unanswered.
For years, since the first man and woman discovered a world
of their own, we have been trying to analyze this on-top-of-the-world
feeling...without much success. But we haven’t given
up yet. Our film-makers certainly haven’t.
The latest dream merchant exploring this enigma is Rajat Mukherjee
who’s directing Pyar Tune Kya Kiya for Venus Records
and Tapes and Ramgopal Varma. Rajat describes the film simply
as “the story of a man who loves a woman”.
So what makes it different from other love stories? Well,
other prem kahanis make you want to fall in love. This one
won’t.
Rajat and his lovers evoke mixed emotions about this familiar
sensation.
He confounds you with lines like: “Somewhere between
love and marriage there is also the unexpected... And somewhere
between marriage and a happily ever after ending there is
the unpredictable.”
This, no doubt sparks off instant interest in this Fardeen
Khan-Urmila Matondkar-Sonali Bendre starrer that has already
caught the eye with its enticing promos. The film also has
Suresh Oberoi, Ravi Baswani, Rajpal Yadav and Kannu Gill in
significant roles. Jagdish Sahni and Rajneesh have
written the dialogue.
Lyrics are by Nitin (crazy) Raikwar and music by Sandeep Chowta.
Cinematography is by Sanjay Kapoor.
