Mudgal sings for Yeh Mohabbat Hai
For the first time ever, popular singer Shubha Mudgal rendered her voice for a film song. Penned by Dev Kohli and composed by Anand Raaj Anand, the song was for Cine Vista’s Eagle Plus Media (P) Ltd.’s Yeh Mohabbat Hai. Being directed by Umesh Mehra and produced by Prem Kishan, Sunil Mehta and Umesh Mehra, the film stars Rahul Bhatt, Akanksha Malhotra, Nasir Khan, Mohini Sharma, Danny Denzongpa, Shakti Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Mohnish Bahl, Rakesh Bedi, Johnny Lever, Dolly Bindra, Avtar Gill, Anjana Mumtaz and Gurbachan. Written by Umesh Mehra, R Talukdar and M Zaveri, the film has cinematography by S Pappu, action by Kammu and Ravi and dances by Bhushan Lakhandri and . Vijay Mehta is the executive producer.


Ajnabee on cruise

Film Folks’ and producer Vijay Galani’s Ajnabee was shot aboard Ocean Majesty from January 3 for eleven days. Director-duo Abbas Mustan picturisated dramatic and thriller packed climax sequences on Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Karina Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Sharat Saxena during the journey in the sea from Mumbai port to Muscat, Dubai and Bahrain. Others in the cast are Johnny Lever, Narendra Bedi, Amita Nagia, Sheela Sharma and Dilip Tahil alongwith Mink in a special appearance. To be presented by Venus, the film, written by Shyam Goel, has music by Anu Malik, lyrics by Sameer, Neeraj Vora, Sanjeev Duggal and Robin Bhatt, action by Kaushal Moses, sound by Jitendra Chaudhury, cinematography by Rajan Kinagi, edited by Hussain Burmawala and art by R Verman.

Mastana nearing completion
A five-day shooting stint for United Films Combines’ Mastana was held from January 15 at various bungalows and locales of Mumbai. Govinda, Jackie Shroff, Mahima Chaudhary, Arun Govil, Jaspal Bhatti, Tiku Talsania, Anjan Srivastava, Avtar Gill and Upasna Singh participated in the pre-climax scenes. Rambha is making a special appearance in the film. Now 95 per cent complete, the film is being produced by Vasant Doshi and directed by Parto Ghosh. Story-screenplay by Ranbir Pushp, dialogue by Anwar Khan, lyrics by Maya Govind, Dev Kohli, Ibrahim Ashq and Nitin Raikwar, music by Rajesh Roshan, cinematography by Sameer Reddy, choreography by Rekha Chinni Prakash and Ganesh Acharya, art by Ajit Dandekar and editing by Sanjay Verma. Kamlesh Doshi is the executive producer of the film.

Manisha Koirala shoots
Manisha Koirala participated in a four-day shooting stint, which concluded on December 31 at Filmistan Studios, alongwith Munish Kohli and Mohini Sharma for producer-director Raj Kumar Kohli and his Shankar Movies’ Prod. No. 25. The film also stars Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani, Aditya Pancholi, Rambha, Arshad Warsi, Sharad Kapoor, Rajat Bedi, Siddharth, Payal, newfind Kiran Rathod, Raju Mawani and Raj Babbar. Sonu Nigam also plays one of the romantic lead. Based on a story by Aatish, the film has dialogue by KK Singh, cinematography by Thomas Xavier, action by Tinu Verma, art by Sunil Singh, sound by JP Saigal, lyrics by Sameer and music by Anand-Milind. It’s a Nishi’s presentation.

Rajat Bedi in Maa Tujhe Salaam

Director Tinu Verma and producer Mahendra Dhariwal have added Rajat Bedi in a guest appearance for Indian Movies’ Maa Tujhe Salaam. He is also participated alongwith Sunny Deol, Tabu and 500 junior artistes on a set erected at Natraj Studios, during a week-long shooting spell between January 2 and 8, wherein a song and some dramatic scenes were canned. Also starring Arbaaz Khan, Prithvi, Sudesh Berry and Tinu Verma in important roles, the film, based on a story by Tinu Verma and Sattu Patel, has screenplay by Shyam K Goel, dialogue by KK Singh, cinematography by Raju Kaygee, choreography by Rekha Chinni Prakash and Ricky James, action by Tinu Verma, editing by Sanjay Sankla, art by Sameer Chanda, sound by Rakesh Ranjan, lyrics by Sameer and music by Sajid-Wajid. Sattu Patel is the production designer of the film.

Yeh Dil Ashiqana

Producer Aroona Irani and director Kuku Kohli concluded a week-long shooting spell on January 2 for their A.K. Films International’s Yeh Dil Ashiqana at Bhavans College, Andheri (West), Mumbai. Many romantic, dramatic and thrilling scenes were canned. The film introduces new romantic pair Karan Nath and Jeevidha, with Aditya Pancholi, Mukesh Rishi, Johny Lever and Aroona Irani. The film has cinematography by Baba Azmi, choreography by Saroj Khan and Farah Khan, art by Amit Mishra (Pappu), editing by Sanjay Jaiswal, lyrics by Sameer and music by Nadeem-Shravan.

Pyaasa in Kulu-Manali-Shimla

Producer Ramesh Sharma and director A. Muthu have signed Mukesh Tiwari and Akhilendra Mishra to play important roles in their Triple Aar Movies’ Pyaasa. Meanwhile, during a 15-day shooting spell, from January 3, two songs have already been canned, under the baton of choreographer Tharun Kumar in the pictureseque locales of Kulu-Manali. The entire unit is shifting to Shimla for shooting one more song and other romantic and dramatic scenes. The film introduces Miss World ’99 Yukta Mookhey opposite Aftab Shivdasani with newfind Sayed Zulfi. Also starring Govind Namdeo, Anang Desai, Sanjay Narvekar, Smita Jaykar and Arif Zakaria, the film, based on a story by Ikram Akhtar, has screenplay by Sanjeev Duggal, dialogue by Tanveer Khan, cinematography by Harmeet Singh, action by Bhiku Verma, art by Gayatri Marwah, sound by Jagmohan Anand, editing by Sachin, lyrics by Faaiz Anwar and music by Sanjeev-Darshan.

Sanjay-Chandrachur-Shamita in
Mohabbat Ho Gayi Hai Tumse

Satish Khanna Productions’ Mohabbat Ho Gayi Hai Tumse will be shot for three-days from January 27, at Mohan Studios, Andheri (East), Mumbai wherein many romantic, dramatic and thrilling scenes will be canned on Sanjay Dutt, Chandrachur Singh and Shamita Shetty. Rajeev Verma and Shama Deshpande are also participating. The film also stars Paresh Rawal in a pivotal role. Being produced by Satish Khanna and directed by Rishi K Talwar, the film is written by S Farhan and has cinematography by Anil Saigal, action by Mahendra Varma, art by R Varman, sound by Pradeep Suri, editing by Dilip-Zafar, lyrics by Sameer and music by Sanjeev Darshan.

Dubbing for Chandni Bar

Producer Mrs R Mohan and director Madhur Bhandarkar commenced the dubbing of their Shlok Films’ Chandni Bar from January 15 onwards. The film stars Tabu, Atul Kulkarni, Sri Vallabh Vyas, Rajpal Yadav, Vinay Apte, Abhay Bhargav, Varun Vardhan, Ananya, Dev Ashish Shedge, Manish Mehta and Suhas Palsekar. Based on a story by Madhur Bhandarkar himself, the film has screenplay by Mohan Azad, dialogue by Masood Mirza, cinematography by Rajeev Ravi, action by Harish Shetty, choreography by Kishore Oreshkar, art by Prasanna and Yeshwant Patil and editing by Hemal Kothare.
