JAVED AKHTAR:
(Chairperson) A writer par excellence, he first hit headlines with partner Salim, penning hit story-screenplays for films Zanjeer, Yaadon Ki Baraat, Deewar and Sholay to name a few. After the twosome parted ways, Javed Akhtar concentrated on writing lyrics. His song Ek do teen for Tezaab was a trend-setter and established him as the leading lyricist. He formed a good team with composer Anu Malik to give hit compositions in films like Border, Duplicate and Refugee and with AR Rahman in Sapnay and Zubiedaa.

UTTAM SINGH:
This music arranger who composed tunes for many leading music directors for the last 25 years hit bull’s eye with Yash Chopra’s Dil To Pagal Hai. He is at present busy composing music for six major films independently.

SHANKAR MAHADEVAN:
The Breathless singer was all set to become an engineer, when he decided to take up his hobby of singing seriously. He started with ad jingles, the popular ones being for Cadbury and the alaap in Pepsi. He was first noticed for the song Ek bagiya mein rehti hai ek maina from Sapnay, followed by I love you from Auzaar. He also composes music with Ehsaan, Loy, Faisal Qureshi and Ranjit Barot. As a composer with Ehsaan and Loy, he made headlines for the music in Mukul Anand’s Dus, especially with the song Suno gaur se duniyawalon. Then came Breathless, an album with Javed Akhtar, with which Shankar made history. Shankar-Ehsaaan-Loy also scored the music for Nagesh Kukunoor’s Rockford. This year the trio’s music in Mission Kashmir was a chartbuster.
