What
should one expect from the writers of 2001?
I
see almost every film in my private theatre at home. And I
am sorry to say that these young filmmakers are going in for
all kinds of modern day technique and equipment and concentrating
more on body then soul. If they continue even like this in
the year 2001 I feel sad to see a very bleak future for the
industry.
Dr. B.R. Chopra, Filmmaker
We
have to find good stories. How did we have good, neat and
tidy stories in our times. Only great stories written by genuine
writers, even if they are young can come up with great ideas
which can make great films, great actors, great music directors.
The young directors to come I am sorry have no idea that anything
purely Indian, then how can they make good films with good
Indian stories. Bad stories are certainly going to be the
death-knell of the industry. I firmly believe that it is only
the good writers who can save this sick industry.
Dilip Kumar, MP
How
can you think of a film without a story? How can you create
good films without good stories, the very back-bone of every
film?
Gulzar, Writer, Poet
I
see great hope in young filmmakers like Aditya, Sooraj, Farhan
Akhtar, Tanuja Chandra and Meghna Gulzar. I hope they fulfil
the need of the our which is good stories with good films.
Prem Sagar, Filmmaker
Story,
stories and only stories can help the industry in the time
to come nothing else can. We will have to have good writers
with genuine ideas if we have to make good films not only
in 2001 but also in the future.
