Vijayaraghavan in
the lead in KB Madhu’s next

KB Madhu, who started his career as an independent director with Chitrashalabham and then made Deepasthambham Mahaascharyam and Vinayapoorvam Vidyaadharan, is all set to do his fourth film. To be produced by Unni Poonkunnam under the banner of Krishnakripa Films, it will have Vijayaraghavan in the lead. Jagathy, too, would be doing a major role. It is also being said that a well-known star of the Malayalam cinema, whose name is not being disclosed, will also do a major role. To be scripted by Suresh Pothuval, the film will have lyrics by Kaithapram and music by Ouseppachchan. Cinematography will be by Tony and editing will be done by G Murali. It will be cinematographed mainly in Kochi and Ooty.

Double role for Mohanlal
In Anil’s film

Anil, who earlier made Mohanlal starrers like Douthyam and Suryagaayathri, is all ready to direct yet another Mohanlal-starrer. The film, to be scripted by Robin Thirumala, will have Mohanlal in a double role. One of the characters he will enact will really be a powerful one- that of advocate David Pullieckal. The shooting is likely to commence early in 2001. Mohanlal will be portraying a double role after a long time. The last one he enacted was in Sibi Malayil’s Maayamayooram.

Nedumudi Venu to
star in a Hindi film

Nedumudi Venu is undoubtedly one of the most gifted artists of Malayalam cinema. Though film-lovers in Kerala are very much aware of Venu’s capabilities as an actor. He is undoubtedly one of the most sensitive artistes in the entire country and as such deserves national recognition. This gifted actor of Malayalam films is now getting a break on the National scenario, in a Hindi film. Titled Bhagobhooth and scripted and directed by Sai Paranjype, it is based on a folklore. And Sai Paranjype, one of India’s noted filmmakers, is happy working with Nedumudi Venu, who, in her opinion, is a “million dollar actor”.

Vinayan to make Karimaadikuttam

It is generally known that Kalabhavan Mani owes much to director Vinayan. For it was Vinayan’s Vaasanthiyum and Lekshmiyum Pinne Njaanum, which enabled Mani to break free of the comedian mould in which he was cast and re-cast in films. Now, Mani is again going to do the lead role in Karimaadikuttan, Vinayan’s next film after Dadasahib. Jagathy Sreekumar and Janardhanan, too, would do major roles in the new film, which is to be scripted by J Pallaserry and is based on a story by the director himself.

The cinematography will be by noted cinematographer Azhagappan. Bawa will do the artwork for this film, which will be produced by Samson Paanaadan under the banner of Surabhi Cinema.
