Aashiq music launch -- Test of love

It was a music release function unique in many ways. Firstly, it’s difficult to imagine a Hindi film music launch at Ahmedabad, add to that the function being held at a plush mutliplex cinema is also rare. So the the music release of Shweta International’s Aashiq, on December 13 at R World, a state-of-the-art Multiplex cinema at Gandhinagar, near Ahmedabad, will always be remembered. The venue added more colour to the function, as the foyer of the cinema was lit with laser lights and decked up with flowers to welcome the guests from the Bollywood.

The crowd inside the auditorium was restless to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars. But disappointment was noticed distinctively on many faces when informed that Karisma Kapoor couldn’t make it to the function, as she was indisposed. But Bobby Deol more than managed to calm the crowd with his ominous presence. The brief, but well-managed ritual of releasing the music, kicked off one hour past the schedule time of 9 p.m. Without wasting much time, the song clippings from the film were screened on the giant screen, regaling the invitees.

On stage, there was everyone associated with the film, right from the producer to the distributor. There was a smile writ large on the face of young music director pair of Sanjeev-Darshan, as they could sense that one more ace is up their sleeve. They have done a lot of work at this stage of their career, and its an enviable achievement compared to their contemporaries. Their father Shravan, who was supposed to attend the function, failed to turn up. Maybe he wanted his sons to hog the limelight.

The traditional lamp was lit by Mrs Sharma, mother of producer Anil Sharma. This was followed by the release of the music by Mrs Sharma, who was assisted by Ramesh Taurani of TIPS. Welcoming the guests, Ajay Chudasama, managing director of Raj Multiplex, who was the main force behind the arrangement of the evening, said it was an honour for Ahmedabad that such functions are made possible with the same pomp and grandeur, as they happen in Mumbai. Director Indra Kumar and Ramesh Taurani were impressed with the arrangements made by the R World management, making it an evening to remember. The function was followed by a party at the poolside of Taj Ummer, which went continued well past midnight.
