Avid
ships Avid ePublisher
Avid
Technology, Inc. has announced that Avid(R) ePublisher, an
all-in-one streaming media publishing application, is now
shipping. Using a simple drag-and-drop interface, Avid ePublisher
creates full-screen web experiences in which multiple elements
on a web page are synchronized with the video.
This web video solution allows professional communicators
to easily create and deliver their interactive multimedia
content directly to the most popular digital formats: Web,
CD and DVD. Pricing begins at $550.
Avid ePublisher, the first product of its kind, lets users
easily create and publish interactive web content combining
streaming video with HTML content (graphics, images, URLs,
animations, etc.). ePublisher combines traditional video editing
with Avids new Link & Sync(TM) interactive editing
capability, as well as an innovative, profile-based encoding
and publishing technology that allows users to create a single
project and publish it to a variety of digital formats (Web,
CD and DVD) at the push of a button.
With Avid ePublisher, professional communicators can
now harness the full power of the Web for their video streaming
content, said Alan Hoff, product manager for ePublisher.
It will eliminate the multi-step, multi-tool process
these new media content producers typically employ to create
this type of video-enhanced, HTML-based interactive content.
Because ePublisher creates HTML-based content, it is easy
to publish this content to the Web, CD or DVD for applications
like eLearning, Corporate Communications and other Video-On-Demand
(VOD) uses.
Key features
Link & Sync(TM) Editing: With drag-and-drop ease, this
unique, timeline-based feature enables users to synchronize
the video with elements in other frames of a web page including
graphics, slides animations and other HTML content imported
from popular editing and presentation tools. The application
can also create a table of contents to navigate to any points
in the video. An integrated web layout viewer enables users
to view their work and easily experiment with different format
and designs in real time.
Create it once and deliver it everywhere at the push of a
button: Avid ePublisher allows users to create a single project
and deliver it to the Internet, the corporate Intranet, CD
and DVD. A profile-driven wizard makes delivery push button-easy.
Users can publish to multiple digital media formats including
the Windows Media(TM) format, RM from RealNetworks, Inc.,
QuickTime(R) and MPEG-1 & 2. In addition, this feature
enables easy posting to AvidProNet.com or other video hosting
sites.
Video Editing: ePublisher offers basic video editing features
in an easy-to-understand user interface. Timeline editing
enables users to use simple drag-and-drop techniques to cut,
paste and trim video clips, add titles, audio (narration and
music), and more than 50 different transition effects.
Easy Video Capture: Users can capture video directly from
a digital or analog camera or deck or simply import it from
any other video source (e.g., a third party video editor).
Optional USB analog video capture devices will enable users
to capture video directly into any USB-enabled desktop or
laptop PC.
