M.K. Films’ Kitne Door Kitne Paas starts Mehul’s mission — To know love, only love

I am quite sure producer-director Mehul Kumar, the man who made films like Mrityudaata, Amitabh Bachchan’s first film when he decided to make a comeback and then another film again with Amitabh Bachchan, which unfortunately led neither him nor Amitabh anywhere is upto some new game this time. The cast itself says it all and what he says says almost everything. “I have had enough of making all those big films which have set a trend which is growing sick. I was also a very big victim. So this time I don’t want anyone me or anyone to be a victim and am making the kind of film which I always wanted to make and would have made a long time ago if it was not money money all the way. This time I am following my own conscience as a filmmaker which has been working for years and making a film after my heart. I am making a love story but my love story, take it from me, will change the very idea of love, if all things go right, if all things go as my heart has planned them. I am making Kitne Door Kitne Paas and I know there are so many of my friends who find it difficult to believe that I am making a pure love story. But no one can stop me from going ahead and give true love a place which very few filmmakers have. I am not going to talk big now. Wait and see. I’ll make love too, wait and see what I do for it, in praise of it.”

Mehul launched Kitne Door... on November 6 at SNDT College, Juhu, Mumbai on a massive set depicting the New York Opera Theatre.

Fardeen Khan who received a new lease of life after Ram Gopal Varma’s Jungle faced the camera for the first shot featuring the first few lyrics of a song. Mehul had some of the leaders of the industry to perform the ceremonies.

Jayantilal Gada of Popular Entertainment Network (PEN) which presents the film switched on the camera. Mr Santosh Singh Jain, president, CCCA broke the auspicious coconut and Ramesh Taurani of TIPS, Mumbai, sounded the clapper-board. The launching was followed by an eight-day shooting schedule where a song and dance and several scenes were picturised on Fardeen Khan and dancers from abroad.

The film has screenplay and dialogue by Yunus Sajawal and Imtiaz Patel, lyrics by Anand Bakshi, music by Sanjeev-Darshan (all the seven songs have been recorded), choreography by Ahmed Khan, cinematography by Mazhar Khan, art by R Varman, editing by Yusuf Sheikh and audiography by .....

Anand are other credits. The film is to be made under the banner of MK Films will be completed in six months. Mehul is determined to give love a new meaning to a feeling which generations have never been able to. If he succeeds he will receive all the prizes from the Noble to the Sahyog Awards, all of them.
