Raju : Silver jubilee in Pune
SJ Films’ Marathi offering Raju recently celebrated its silver jubilee week run at the Prabhat talkies in Pune where it was being shown in daily morning shows. The film also had had a 51-day run at the Shahu cinema in Kolhapur. A function to celebrate the successful run of the film and present trophies to all those connected with it is to be held in Pune shortly.

Directed by Kanchan Nayak for producer Prof Suhas Jog, Raju presents an emotional story (written by the producerr himself) revolving round a boy. The film received excellent patronage from women as well as children. Scripted by Shrinivas Bhanage, who has also written the dialogues, it has lyrics by Sudhir Moghe set to music by Anand Modak. The title role of Raju has been essayed by Master Pushkar. Mohan Agashe, Vikram Gokhale, Tushar Dalvi, Bharati Patil, Rajeshwari, Suhas Kulkarni, Kiran Kamerkar, Harish Patel, Prakash Inamdar, Virendra Pradhan and Mitali Jagtap star in the film, cinematographed by Harish Joshi. (The film is yet to be released in Mumbai).

Sattadheesh filming complete

The entire shooting of Shraddha Films’ Sattadheesh has been recently completed by director Yashwant Bhalkar and producer Lata Jadhav. The film is now undergoing post-production. The story, written by Anant Timbile, revolves round rural politics and dwells on the single-handed fight waged by a brave woman to expose the evil deeds of a politician in power. The script and dialogues are by Pratap Gangavane, while the lyrics written by Jagdish Khebudkar and Baba Soudagar have been set to music by Achyut Thakur. Aishwarya Narkar, Kuldeep Pawar, Ravi Patwardhan, Shobha Shiralkar, Dr Sharad Bhutadia and newcomer Pravin Patil star in the film, with Prasad Pandit and Babanrao Gholap as guest artistes. Cinematography by Prakash Shinde, editing by Vijay Khochikar and audiography by Ramnath Jathar are the major technical credits.

Sarja Raja certified ‘U’

Dattatraya Productions’ Sarja Raja has been certified for universal exhibition by the Central Board of Film Certification and the makers of the film are at present busy making arrangements for the early release of the film all over Maharashtra. Written by Pratap Gangavane, the film is a vocal tale of two dumb bullocks named Sarja and Raja, and a peasant family which owns them. Directed by Pitambar Kale for producer Sharad Deshmukh, it stars Vijay Chavan, Pramod Pawar, Mugdha Shah, Prema Kiran, Rajshekhar, Devendra and child artistes Bhuvan Deshpande and Lalya. Cinematography by Prakash Shinde, music by Achyut Thakur, editing by A Rafiq, audiography by Anil Nikam, art by Satish Bidkar and choreography by Jaikumar and Prema Kiran are the major technical credits.

Tuch Maajhi Bhaagyalaxmi due soon
Mahalaxmi Film Productions’ engrossing family drama Tuch Maajhi Bhaagyalaxmi is scheduled to be released soon in Nashik, Pune and a few other cities in Maharashtra. This is the first film produced by Mulchandbhai V. Patel, Nashik-based exhibitor and distributor. Filmed in Cinemascope, it has been directed by Pitambar Kale and stars Ramesh Bhatkar, Deepak Deoolkar, Kuldeep Pawar, Aishwarya Narkar, Vijay Chavan, Ankush Choudhary, Avinash Narkar, Surekha Kudchi, Poojangi Borgaonkar, Jr Dada Kondke, Rajani Chavan and Upasana Singh, who makes her debut on the Marathi screen. Based on a story by Hitesh Patel and screenplay and dialogues by Ram Kelkar, it has lyrics by Jagdish Khebudkar set to music by Nandu Honap. Cinematographed by Raju Shukla and Bhupendra Pandya, it has been edited by Ashok Patwardhan.
