Badhaai Ho Badhaai rolls
Director Satish Kaushik has teed off the shoots for Badhaai Ho Badhaai with the picturisation of a song at Filmistan Studios, Mumbai. Anil Kapoor and newfind Suresh Menon participated. The film, a Mukta Arts presentation is being made under the banner of Kapoor and Kaushik Entertainment and Anas Films, and is being produced by Anil Kapoor, Satish Kaushik and Mansoor A Siddique. Shilpa Shetty and Amisha Patel are the leading ladies with Amrish Puri also essaying a key role. The film has music by Anu Malik.
 


Feroz Khan is Europe-bound

Producer-director Feroz Khan left for UK and Italy on November 10 to finalise the locations for his next film Tera Saath Hai Kitna Pyara of which the first song has already been recorded by music director Anand Raaj Anand. Two more songs will be recorded soon, while regular shoots will commence in January 2001.

 


Aishwarya sacked

The producers of Maruti International’s next, Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria have “sacked” Aishwarya Rai as the heroine of their film. Karisma Kapoor will now replace Ash as Anil Kapoor’s co-star in the film. The film is being directed by Indra Kumar.

 

Workshop on filmmaking
Cinematographers’ Combine and Kodak Entertainment Imaging hosted “From Words To Image,” a three-day workshop on the interactive nature of filmmaking from November 10 to 12 at the The Russian Cultural Centre, Mumbai. The workshop focused on the diverse facets of filmmaking, also assessing the impact of the technological advances in digital technology.

 

Chimankant no more
Chimankant Gandhi who worked as Mehboob Khan’s right-hand man throughout the legend’s career died in Mumbai last week. He was 90 and used to attend Sunil Dutt’s office every day during the last 45 years. He is credited with ‘discovering’ Sunil Dutt and Rajendra Kumar as actors in Mother India.
