Raj Babbar signs four films
Raj Babbar is to play important and pivotal roles in four films, viz, director Raj Kanwar and producer Suraj Prakash’s Prod. No. 3, starring Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Karisma Kapoor, producers Ajit Dewani and Suraj Prakash and directors Glen-Ankush’ Prod. No. 2, starring Aftab Shivdasani and Preity Zinta, producer Sunny Deol and director Maharajan’s Indian, starring Sunny Deol, Shilpa Shetty, Rajat Bedi, Om Puri and Danny Denzongpa and producer-director Raj Kumar Kohli’s Prod. No. 25, starring Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Manisha Koirala, Aftab Shivdasani, Rambha, Aditya Pancholi, Arshad Warsi, Rajat Bedi, Siddharth, Payal, Mohini Sharma, Munish Kohli and Sonu Nigam.

Sai Baba in USA
Denim Enterprises Limited’s Sai Baba is racing towards completion after director Deepak Balraj Vij completed a two week-long shooting schedule for the film recently. The first one was held on a huge set depicting a Punjabi atmosphere erected at Kamal Amrohi Studios wherein some parts of a song were canned on Rohit Roy (who makes a friendly appearance) alongwith 50 models, 50 bhangra dancers and 100 junior artistes. The remaining part of the song was completed in the second stint held in Calcutta. This song was picturised with a Bengali backdrop alongwith 50 dancers on the River Ganges, Kalighat, Chowringhee Lane, Park Street, Bose Road, Boat sails in Howrah Bridge, Cable Bridge in Hooghly and Vardhaman Printing Press and Jagat Gurudwara. Tapas Pal and Arunadhiti made guest appearances too. On November 20, the entire unit will leave for USA for a 20-day marathon shooting spell. The film stars Sudhir Dalvi in the title role, Vikram Gokhale, Rohini Hattangadi, Meenakshi, Alok Nath, Razzak Khan, Sayaji Shinde, Arif Zakaria, Sulbha Deshpande and Sonali Batra. Aushim Khetrapal is being introduced in the film. Bali Brahmabhatt will also feature in this schedule. An American musical trupe alongwith some Hollywood artistes also play pivotal roles. Story-screenplay-dialogue by Vikas Kapoor, cinematography by Sanjay Malvankar, choreography by Subal Sarkar, art by Madhu Kamble, editing by Kuldeep Mehan and lyrics and music by Pandurang Dixit and Bali Brahmabhatt are the other credits. With the conclusion of this schedule, the film will be more than 80 percent complete.

Khatron Ke Khiladi back from Coimbatore-Ooty

The entire unit of ABC Picture Pvt. Ltd’s and producer Sanjay D Chaturvedi’s Khatron Ke Khiladi returned from Coimbatore and Ooty after a 15-day marathon schedule wherein the entire climax was shot on a specially erected set of a terrorist camp with dramatic, action scenes and a song on the entire star cast. The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Raj Babbar in a double role, Puru Rajkumar, Rohit Roy, Sudesh Berry, Rutika Singh, Sheel Jhangeer, Ishrat Ali, Rami Reddy, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Tej Sapru, Sujata Mehta, Aushim Khetrapal, Mangal Kinkare, Master Shantanu and Kader Khan. A DN Chaturvedi presentation, the film, directed by Imran Khalid is written by Khalid Mazid, and has music by Ram Shankar, lyrics by Ibrahim Ashq and Vinay Bihari, dances by Habiba Rehman, action by Hanif Khan, and cinematography by Ashok Rao. With the completion of this schedule, the film is 65 per cent complete. Bharat Chaturvedi is the co-producer. The last schedule of the film will started from the first week of December in Kolhapur, Coimbatore and Mumbai locales. The film will be ready for release by February 2001.

Mithun Chakraborthy’s Mahasangram in Chennai

The first 15-day initial shooting spell for Amba Picture’s Maha Sangram will be held from December 10 at Film City, Ooty and Chennai. Mithun Chakraborthy is playing the main lead. Other cast and credit are to be finalised soon. Being directed by TLV Prasad, it has screenplay by S Khan and dialogues by Sachindra Sharma.

Ghayal Sher 50% complete

The first 15-day shooting spell of Shan Cine Vision’s Ghayal Sher was completed recently at Chandivili Studio, Essel Studio and various locales of Mumbai. 50 percent complete, the film stars Dharmentdra in the title role with Mohan Joshi, Shehzad Khan, Shiva, Ali Khan, Hemant Birje, Sapna, Vicky Kaushik, Ankush, Mohit, Shiva, Hira, Sudesh Berry, Shahbaz Khan, Zahid Ali, Rajeev Raj and Reshma. Being directed by SR Pratap for producer IA Khan, it has cinematography by Heera, story and screenplay by K Khan, dialogues by Tanveer Durrani, music by Bappi Lahiri and lyrics by Anwar Sagar.

Aye Watan In Varodra, Gujarat

A ten-day outdoor shooting spell for AS Movie’s Aye Watan will be held from November 25 to December 5 at Varodra, Gujrat. Starring Amit Pachori, Anu Kashyap, Rajesh Sabharwal, Senora, Hitesh Patel, Kareena, Dilshad Khan, Rajesh Singh, Mansoor Khan, Anjum Ali and Abdul Mazeed, the film is produced by Mohd Salim and directed by M Saadik Khan. Written by Wahid Mohsin, the film has cinematography by Ram Krishna, action by Ilyash Khan, dances by Mahesh, music by Vishu Raj-Jayanta and lyrics by Sabbir. It is Mohd. Hussain Shashi Presentation.

Sindhoor Mange Khoon shooting complete

The entire shooting of Sunshi Creation’s Sindhoor Mange Khoon was recently completed in a final spell held at Film City, Essel and Basra Studio. Produced by Disha and Sunny Kapoor and directed by Sunny Kapoor, the film stars Ravi Kissen, Durgesh Nandani, Hemant Birje, Shira, Tej Sapru, Ankush, Guru Bachchan and Mohan Joshi. It has music and lyrics by Aravind Kuwar and editing by Tarsem Singh.

Launched Eish Art’s Prod. No.2

Eish Art’s Prod. No.2 was launched with the recording of all the songs by music director Dilip Sen recently at FX Recording Theatre. The film is being produced by Rishi and directed by Manoj Pandya. The cast and other credits of the film are being finalised. The film will go on the floors in January.

Anjan Hai Koi? Songs recorded

Four songs for COSMOS Films’ Anjan Hai Koi? were recorded at Sahara Studio in the voices of Udit Narayan. Sanjivani and Hema Sardesai by music director Baba Jagirdar. Lyrics were by Nawab Arzoo. Written and directed by Mahfooz Khan and produced by Sunil Desai, the film stars Aman Verma, Ashish Chopra, Dalip Tahil, Mohan Joshi, Adi Irani, Shiva Rizawana, Dev Malhotra and S Navin Bery. Two heroines are yet to be finalised

Great Target mounts the sets

Producer-director and lyricist Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Singh launched his film Great Target on November 15 with a start-to-finish shooting schedule. All the songs are already recorded by music directors Ghulam Ali and Chander. Meantime Dr. Singh has signed Harish Patel and actress Kunpal, fight master Iliyas and dance directors Gopal and Shiva. The film is being produced under the banner of Shreeman Films.

Sunm — The Silent Murder

A non-stop 20-day shooting stint of Jaya Films’ Sunm-The Silent Murder was completed on November 5 at Bassein (Vasai) and Panvel. Four songs, some dramatic scenes and the entire climax scenes were picturised on new find Sony Nathan, Ruchi, Manpreet, Rufi alongwith Asrani, Kiran Kumar, Harish Patel and Abhay Bhargav. The film is being produced and directed by debutant Rakesh Sawant (chief assistant to Partho Ghosh and K. Shivraam). Story by Vijay Parityagi, lyrics by Shaam Raaj, music by Suman Sudeep, cinematography by Nanish-Jehangeer, dances by Hemo and actions by Riyaz Sultaan are other credits of the film.

Angaar (The Fire) launched

Writer-producer-director Ajay Kasyap’s new film Deva Productions’Angaar (The Fire) was launched on November 11 at Chamatkar Bungalow in Mumbai with a regular 11 days shooting schedule at Jeevan Silk Mills, Surve Farm (Panvel) and Chetan Studios, Mumbai. During the initial spell, many dramatic and talkie portions are being picturised on Rajat Bedi, Vinay Anand, Sona Kabir, Shraddha Sharma, Kadar Khan, Jhonny Lever, Alok Nath, Rana Jung Bahadur, Dilip Sen, Sulkshana Khatri, Mustaq Khan and Rajesh Sabharwal. The film is cinematographed by Pramod Bhandari.

Pyar Mein Khooshbu
Music director and producer Bharat Sen recorded 3 songs for Hari Om Chitrakala’s Pyar Mein Khooshbu at Paramount Recording Studio, Mumbai on November 6. Vinod Rathod, Nandlal Singh and Sheetal Bhavsar rendered their voice to lyrics penned by Shyam Anuragi and Raja chaudhary. Meanwhile, the other credits are being finalised.

Jungle Mein Mangal

Producers Manoj Williams and Amit Nagpal have announced a new Hindi feature film titled Jungle Mein Mangal to be written and directed by SU Sayyed. Meanwhile, music director Raadhiya has already recorded 6 songs for the film. A start-to-finish shooting schedule will begin in the month of December, while leading star cast and other credits are being finalised.

Utren almost complete

Writer-producer-director-actor Ashok Mudgal completed a 3-day shooting schedule of Attraction Movies Utren on November 3 at Film City, Em Kay Studios and on different outdoor locales of Mumbai during which entire talkie portions and climax scenes were shot. Ashok Mudgal, Rajani Chandra, Himani Shivpuri, Sudha Chandran, Mushtaq Khan, Arun Bali, Sushil Yogi, Urmila and a number of Jr. artistes participated in the schedule. Music by Aziz Ali, cinematography by Trilok Chaudhary and lyrics by Sneh Lata Mudgal are other major credits.

Daman Chakra complete

Writer-producer-director Gautam Palit completed the entire shooting portion including climax for Bharat Arts Daman Chakra on October 27 at Embassy and Basra Studios, Mumbai. During the spell, all the artists including Prasad Oak, Madhumani Govind Namdeo, Mohan Joshi, Mushtaq Khan, Pratibha Raj and Upasna Singh participated. The film has music by Pradip Laad, cinematography by Manish Bhatt, choreography by Mahesh, editing by Harish Chaudhary, action by Surjeet Chaser and dialogues by Hameed Patel.

Zulm Ke Khilaf progresses

Writer-producer-directer Gautam Palit completed 6 days shooting spell of Bharat Arts Zulm Ke Khilaf at Film City and Essel Studios, Mumbai. During the spell, many action and talkie portions were picturised on Aasif Shaikh, Sudhir Mattu, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Goga Kapoor, Raza Murad and Ishrat Ali. The film is ready in 11 reels. Music by Pradip Laad, cinematography by Manish Bhatt, choreography by Mahesh, editing by Harish Chaudhary and action by Surjeet Chaser are other major credits.

Queen of Khajuraho

Producer-Ajay Kumar and director Pappu Behruz will commence a last 4-day stint of Atlanta Production Queen Of Khajuraho November 12 at Chandiwali Studios, Mumbai and Surve Farms (Panvel). During this spell, two songs, some dramatic and emotional scenes will be picturised on Amit Pachori, Sunita, Kirti Shetty, Mushtaq Khan, Meenakshi and Aman Sagar. Sawan Kumar Sawan has provided the musical score for the film.

Janardan

Producer Kumud Agarwal and writer director Satish Nagapure commenced the final mixing work of Suraj and Dheeraj Combines Janardan at B.R. Sound. The film stars Jeetendrain the title role alongwith Ishrat Ali, Alok Nath, Deepak Shirke, Ramesh Bhatkar, Ajit Vachhani, Sulbha Deshpande, Avtar Gill, Mahesh Raaj, Arif Khan, Shiva and the new leading pair Ramesh Kumar and Vishakha Jhaveri. Cinematography by Nisha Telang, music by Kishore Sharma, lyrics by Dev Kohli-Raghvendra, actions by Shamim Azim, editing by Shrikant Telang, choreography by Jay Borade-Kishore Oroskar are other credits of the film.

Saugandh Geeta Ki

Trishna Arts’ Saugandh Geeta Ki was shot from November 7 to 12 at Esel Studios, Film City and other locales of Mumbai. Kiran Kumar, Raza Murad, Hemant Birje, Ishrat Ali, Anil Nagrath, Pinky Chinoy, Vinod Tripathi, Lalitesh, Anjali, Vijay, Jay Kalgutkar and Chandni Gupta participate in the schedule. Dharmendra plays an important role in the film, jointly produced by Chandni Gupta and Avinash and directed by Willy-Raka. Story by Siddique Durrani, cinematography by Shyamal Chakraborty and music by Sourabh are other major credits.

Kaali Raat Mein complete

Producer Ashok Shah and director Mehboob Khan completed the entire shooting of Harsh Enterprises’ Kaali Raat Mein after a non-stop 15 days shooting stint held at various locales and Bungalows of Mumbai recently. The film stars Rajesh Tiwari, Rani Sinha, Raza Murad, Raahat Khan, Ali Khan and Anil Nagrath. Cinematography by Lokesh Bhandari, action by Harish Shetty, music by S. Chand, editing by Nissar Shah are major creidts of the film which is undergoing post-production work at Boney Kapoor’s editing room.
