Distributors take sides in TN tussle

The Tamil Nadu Film Distributors Council has supported the
decision of the Tamil Producers Council to bring in curbs
on expenditure on artistes, Hereafter, the distributors will
buy films from only those producers who are members of the
Council. They also requested the producers to conduct business
with members of the distributors bodies and not to enterain
any member of a rival organisation.
The distributors also decided to give full support to the
core team set-up by Bharatiraja to produce and direct small
budget films. All chiefs of district distributors bodies met
in Chennai under the chairmanship of K Rajan of the Chennai-Chengalpattu
and Tiruvalluvar areas. President K Selvin Raj and secretary
JV Rukumangathan spoke on the ocasion.
