Zee-MGM
channel launched
The Zee-MGM channel was launched on November 1. Under this
venture, Zee has re-launched its English movie channel with
MGM as the partner. Zee-MGM is primarily targeted at the South
Asian market. The opening month would show movies like the
Robin Williams starrer Cadillac Man, Mystic Plaza with Julia
Roberts, Jackie Chan in Killer, Richard Gere in Breathless
and French Kiss starring Meg Ryan.
IN the coming months, Zee-MGM would telecast movies like Thelma
& Louise, Four Weddings And A Funeral and Moonstruck.
It will also have James Bond and Pink Panther flicks which
form the library of MGM. The MGM library has produced 3,000
titles since 1960.
The earlier, Zee Movies channel was launched on March 15 and
reaches 11 million homes across India and is part of the Zee
direct-to-operator bouquet. Other than India, the channel
is available across Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal
and Maldives.
