HAMARA DIL AAPKE PAAS HAI
Tips,
Rs. 55
Composer duo Sanjeev-Darshans third musical score isnt
much to crow about, with only one song worth listening to. The
compositions have that heard-before feeling, and sound very
boring. The title song is the best of the lot, with a lilting
tune, and has caught on due to heavy airplay. Tumko dekha to
is drab and doesnt even register, Shukriya shukriya is
equally listless. Main teri hoon doesnt even have a tune
and Alka Yagnik screeches to glory here. On the flipside you
have a family song, Its my family, the kind heard in umpteen
family-oriented films before. Gham hai kyoon, Kya maine aaj
suna and I love you are all terrible-sounding compositions,
totally off-key. Javed Akhtars lyrics arent his
usual good ones. This album can surely be given a miss.
DIL
NE PHIR YAAD KIYA
Sony Music, Rs. 55
Aadesh Srivastava comes up with another likeable score here
after Kunwara, proving that he has a know-how of what goes
into making a composition appealing. Take for instance the
title song, which though is borrowed from a yesteryear number,
has its own charm. Soothing and catchy, it is well-sung by
Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. Sare sheher mein is feel-good,
lilting number, sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Udit Narayan.
Since Lata is rarely heard singing new songs, this one is
a treat, though the Nightingale sounds a bit shaky
here. Side B has the bhangra number Aaj nachna based on Daler
Mehndis Bolo ta ra ra. Ye mausam has been wrongly credited
to Udit Narayan, when it has been actually sung by Kumar Sanu,
alongwith Alka Yagnik. The concluding number, Dupatta sambhal
ke, is a peppy one, with good beats, and Vinod Rathod sings
it with gusto. An okay score which has its moments.
KAALI
TOPI LAAL RUMAAL
India Music, Rs. 35
An album of six songs written by Maya Govind, Rani Malik and
Nawab Arzoo, which have been set to music by Dilip Sen-Sameer
Sen. The audio opens with a romantic duet Badan mein jaadoo
chaal mein shokhi written by Rani Malik and sung by Kumar
Sanu and Kavita Krishnamurthy. It is fast-paced and marked
by lilting instrumentation. This song is followed by yet another
catchy duet written by Nawab Arzoo, Jab se tere mere yaara
nain mile hain, which has been rendered by Udit Narayan and
Sadhana Sargam. Bahar baras raha hai, the opening track on
the flipside, will be another piece that will find favour
with the listeners. It has been sung by Kumar Sanu and Alka
Yagnik. The remaining songs in the audio are Hey jaane jaana
rendered by Abhijeet and Poornima, Deewana mastana hoon rendered
by Abhijeet and chorus, and Tere mere pyaar ka, written by
Rani Malik and sung by Kumar Sanu and Kavita Krishnamurthy.
AAJ
KA NAHNHA FARISHTA
India Music, Rs. 35
Of the five songs here, four are racy and foot-tapping.
Undoubtedly, they will go down well with kids and youngsters,
and might appeal to adult listeners also. The racy pieces
are Balle balle ho jayegi (written by Sikandar Bharti, tuned
by Babla Shah and sung by Latasha), Main mawali hoon (written
by Prayag Raj, set to music by Bappi Lahiri and rendered by
Bappi Lahiri himself along with Kavita Krishnamurthy), Ye
Duniya Gol Hai (written by Anwar Sagar, tuned by Rajesh Roshan
and sung by Amit Kumar and Sapna Mukherjee) and Chhota bachcha
hoon lekin (written by Sikandar Bharti, composed by Babla
Shah and rendered by Sonu Nigam). The remaining track Wada
karke jaate ho, written by Sikandar Bharti, tuned by Bappi
Lahiri and sung by Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and Pratap Barot,
has a slight tinge of pathos, but nonetheless it is appealing.
