Pankaj Udhas sings ICE, ICE, baby

Gazal maestro Pankaj Udhas will soon form a company to initiate business activities in the fields of entertainment and information technology (IT).

Velvet vision, the company to be promoted by Udhas along with two other partners, would be launched by October end, said Pankaj Udhas. The entertainment division of the company would concentrate on producing feature films and software for television channels while the IT unit would launch several Websites on the Internet, he said. The venture would initially be funded by the three partners, Udhas said adding the possibility of raising money through market borrowing would be considered later.

Velvet would start a comprehensive music website by end of this month to offer a ‘one-stop-shop’ to music lovers, he said adding the site named as www.Musik121.Com would be one of the few legitimate music sites on the Net.
Udhas said at present there were many illegal music sites on the Internet which were not approved by organisations like Indian performing rights society (IPRS) and Indian music industry (IMI) and violating copyright acts. The company would also launch a few other websites and produce a feature film titled Yahi To Pyar Hai, to be released by the year end, he said.

Udhas, who has also sung for a few popular films, would compose music for the first time for a movie in his home production film. “It is a low-budget film. We will go for big-budget and multi-starer movies in the near future,” Udhas said adding the aim of the company would be to produce sensible films. The other two promoters of the company are G D Bhaiya of RSI Ltd, Calcutta and Sundar Lohia, engaged in the business of ayurvedic medicines.
