Producers Jackie and Ayesha Shroff, and Universal Music India released the music of Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai at a grand function on August 14, in Mumbai. The wide-eyed Ayesha Shroff’s eyes widened even more with pride, as she saw the music of her first film as a producer getting released. Dressed in an off-white saree, she played the dazzling host, welcoming the who’s who of the film industry. Hubby Jackie, for once, let his wife hog the limelight, as he huddled himself in a corner as usual, chatting with friends.Mahesh Manjrekar holds forth as Ayesha and Jackie Shroff look on.

The film stars Govinda in the title role of Ganga. Sonali Bendre and Rinke Khanna play his heroines. Mahesh Manjrekar is the director, and the film has music by Anand Raaj Anand.

The music release function commenced a whole three hours later than the scheduled time, only after Govinda made his appearance with wife Sunita in tow. Abhishek Bachchan, who escorted his mother Jaya Bachchan, caused a stampede as the satellite media jostled with one another to capture the upcomig star on camera. Vinod Khanna and wife Kavita made a fleeting appearance with indiustrialist Adi Godrej and wife Parmeshwar.

Bali Brahmbhatt and Anand Raaj Anand inaugurated the proceedings as they took to centre-stage and sang the song Prem chhe from the film. The duo was joined by Govinda, who sang and broke into an impromptu jig. The producers, Jackie and a beaming Ayesha, then came on stage to talk about Jis Desh Mein..., which has been produced under their banner Quest Films. A suited-booted Mahesh Manjrekar joined them and thanked Govinda for helping him complete the film in a record time of eight months. Govinda, in turn, said it was Jackie’s aura, and his good deeds which were responsible for the film getting complete without any hitches. Anand Raaj Anand, Sonali Bendre, Rinke Khanna, Shivaji Satam, Shakti Kapoor, and singers Abhijeet, Bali Brahmbhatt and Anuradha Sriram also spoke on the occasion.
