Kerry Packer JV to provide complete range of IT services
Consolidated
Futuristic Solutions Limited, an Information Technology joint
venture between Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd. (HFCL)
and Kerry Packers Consolidated Press Holding (CPH),
is to launch its complete range of IT services relating to
the entertainment media, telecom and financial services sectors
under the brand name of Cofuture.
An investment
of Rs. 100 crore - half of it through equity - has been made
in the venture in which HFCL holds 51 per cent stake, CPH
30 per cent and the rest 19 per cent has been kept for strategic
investors.
Rajiv
Shah, the CEO of Cofuture, said that Kerry Packers media
company, considering its large interests in the media business,
would themselves be among Cofutures important customers.
"The
role of Information Technology in the film and television
business has been gaining importance day by day. Considering
this importance, Cofuture will be one of the main players
in this field in the time to come," said a senior executive
of the company.
Plans
are already afoot to set up centres in important markets to
get closer to the customer. Cofuture is also considering options
for acquisition of software companies that have synergy with
its vision. An international management consultancy is advising
Cofuture on its organisational structure and business plans.
The first major facility of Cofuture will open in Gurgaon
and the second one in the South.
