Launched with a song
Anjan Hain Koi

Cosmos Films’ Anajan Hain Koi was launched with a song recording at AB Sound Recording theatre on August 6 in the voice of Sadhna Sargam. Penned by Zahid Hasan, it has music by Josfi. Produced by Sunil Desai and written and directed by Mahfooz Khan, the film stars Aman Verma, Parveen Dabbas, Akanksha, Dalip Tahil, Mohan Joshi, Shiva Rizwana, Purnima Barve and Dev Malhotra. One more heroine is to be finalised. Lyrics by Nida Fazil, Nikhal Khan Faizabadi, Nawab Arzoo, cinematography by FR Khan and sound by Dilip Sawant are the other credits. Regular shooting of the film will commence from August 22 to 28 at Film City, Madh Island, Vaikunth Villa and other places in Mumbai.

Shola Aur Barood
The entire editing of JK Movies Internationals’ Shola Aur Barood was completed on August 11 at Studio Avid, Mumbai. Starring Satnam Kaur, Amit Pachori, Rani Sinha, Dinesh Hingoo, Anil Nagarath, Harish Patel, Ishrat Ali, Kiran Kumar and Shakti Kapoor, the film is co-produced by Sarabjit Sen and written by PK Sharma. It is a Jagdish Choudhary presentation.

Three-day spell

Dacait
Producer-director and editor Jitendra Chawda executed a three-day shooting spell from August 4 to 6 for Ishwar Films’ Dacait at Kamal Anrohi Studios, Chandivali Quaries and Jeevan Mill premises in Mumbai. During the current stint, one song, some action and dramatic scenes were canned on all the artists. The film stars Dharmendra who plays the title role alongwith Satnam Kaur, Prithvi, Amit Pachori, Kiran Kumar, Shakti Kapoor, Rami Reddy, Deepak Shirke, Ishrat Ali, Raza Murad, Razak Khan, Anil Nagrath, Shiva and Joginder. A Mrs Kanta Chawda presentation, the film has music by Sawan Kumar Sawan and lyrics by Zail Singh and Kumar Anjum.

Dubbing in progress
Daku Maharani
Producer Vimal Jain and director Teerath Singh are executing the final dubbing work for Nishu Arts’ Daku Maharani at Diwan Studios, Mumbai on Satnam Kaur who plays the title role along with Roma, Kiran Kumar, Deepak Shirke, Anil Nagarath, Shiva, Ali Khan, Joginder and Ramesh Goel. The film is slated to be released in September. Other credits are script by Prem Kumar Sharma, cinematography by RM Shah, action by Riyaz Sultan, music by Sawan Kumar Sawan and choreography by Mahesh Kumar.

Director Badal Gupta signed

Producer Mrs Lalita Agarwal has signed Badal Gupta to direct her maiden venture feature film to be made under the banner of Teknikraft’s Production No 1. It has script by Akshay Agarwal. The rest of the starcast and other credits are being finalised.

Anant Pauskar signed

Producer Satwant Kaur and director K Chandra have signed cinematographer Anant Pauskar to wield the camera for their SR Creations’ Romance in Jungle (Hindi). Script has been written by Chander Kaushal, music director Ritu Raj will hold musical launching by end of August 2000 in Mumbai. Meanwhile the rest of the starcast and credits are being finalised.

Ganga Dacait

Vinod Tripathi has been added to the cast of 5001 Films’ Ganga Dacait to play a guest appearance. The film is being produced by J Neelam and is directed by Kishan Shah.

Ishara’s Ishara
Sub Kuchh
Writer-producer-director BR Isharas’ Sub Kuchh is a remake of his previous film Zaroorat. The first copy was out recently from Ramnord Lab. The film stars Preeti Jain, Joy Sengupta, Mushtaq Khan, Harish Patel, Mohan Joshi, Shama Deshpande, Nandita Thakur, Sangeeta Kapura, Kalpana Iyer, Ali Asghar, Ajay Shrivastav and Zuber Khan with Navin Nischol in a special appearance. Music by Raju Singh, lyrics by Nagsh Lyallpuri, editing by IM Kunnu, cinematography by Sujit Sen and dances by Habiba Rehman are the other credits.

Kya

Dharmendra was the chief guest for the muhurat of Sana Art Internationals’ Kya on August 7 at Esel Studio. Starring Rupesh, Bindu, Joy, Arif Ali and newfind Master Aun Ali, the film is produced by Merchant. Directed by Vijay Talani, it has dances by Guddu, music by Pramod Nair and cinematography by Mansoor Ali. Dipesh is the co-producer.

Pyar Mein Khooshbu

Music director Bharat Sen recorded four songs for Pyar Mein Khooshbu recently at Gini Recording Studio, Mumbai. Penned by Shyam Anuragi and Rajesh Rahi, they were rendered by Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Purnima Sen and Rajesh Chakraborty. It is being made under the banner of Hari Om Chitrakala. Other credits are being finalised.

First copy out
Mrityu - The Truth

The first copy of Eish Arts’ Mrityu - The Truth was out on August 7 from Cine Labs. Produced by S Rishi and directed by Manoj Pandeya, the film stars Ram Asra, Avinash, Pooja Dadwal, Naina Kar, Babloo Mukherjee, Bindu Kamat, Anamika Goel, Nitin Malhotra, Sheela Sharma, Hemant Pande, Shiva, Anil Nagrath, Mushtaq Khan and Aroon Bakshi. Written by Manoj Sinha, the film has lyrics by Kuku Pranbhas, music by Babu Kishan, cinematography by Manish Bhatt, dances by Lollypop, and editing by Suhag Diwan.

Jeene Nahin Doongi

Editing of Divya Enterprises’ Jeene Nahin Doongi began on July 31 at Satyam Editing Room. The film, now almost complete except for a three-day shooting stint which will be held soon, is being produced by RM Mishra and directed by K Chandra. The film stars Amit Pachori, Pooja Dadwal, Anu Kashyap, Yamini, Dinesh Hingoo, Kaushal Kapoor, Vicky Mehra, Yogee, Prabhat Singh, Ishrat Ali, Mahavir Shah, Deepak Shirke, Pinky Chinoy and Shakti Kapoor, Story by RS Pandit, screenplay by Chandra Kaushal, dialogues by Gyanesh, music by Raajkumar-Abhijeet, cinematography by Dinesh K Thakkar, action by Shamin Azim, sound by Natu, dances by Habiba Rehman and Kamalnath and editing by Vijay Mengl are the major credits.

Daaku Bhairav Singh

Leading man Dharmendra faced the camera for Shri Balaji Films’ Daaku Bhairav Singh on August 1 at Esel Studios alongwith Joginder and fighters and junior artistes while the second unit was picturising a dance-number on Amit Pachori, Rajni Chandra, Shakti Kapoor, Anil Nagrath, Joginder, Vinod Tripathi and dancers. The film is being produced by Kamla Sharma and directed and edited by Pappu Sharma and has story-screenplay by Naresh Namdev, dialogue by Baldev Prasad, cinematography by Pramod Bhandari, dances by Kanu Mukherjee, action by Darshan Singh. lyrics by Manoj Darpan and music by Bablee who recorded the sixth song of the film in the voice of Reema, singer Jojo’s sister, at Techno Sounds on July 29. Others in the cast are Black Billy, Raahat, Surendra Pal, Prithvi Singh, Raman Nayyar, Prem Vallabh and Raaj Kumar Mishra, A non-stop 15-day shooting stint of the film is in progress at Film City, Chandivali Studios, MBC Studios and on locals in Mumbai.

Dinesh Salgia’s Veerappan

Producer Dinesh Salgia’s next is a feature film titled Veerappan. The film is already complete and the post-production work is in full swing in Chennai. Kirti Kumar plays the title role in the film which has lyrics by Brij Bihari, and music by OP Sonik. The film is being readied for September release all over.

Dharmendra signed
Dharmendra and Rajesh Bhartiye have been signed to play the lead roles alongwith Hemant Birje, Shiva, Ankush Mohit and Jay Kalgutkar in Sai Nikhil Movies’ Reshma Aur Sultaan. The film went on the floors on August 4 at Esel Studios with an eight-day shooting stint. Being produced by Kirtibhai and directed by Sabir, it is written by RS Pandit, and has music by Abhi-Raaj. Two heroines are being finalised for the film.

Main Jyoti Tu Jwala
The first print of Star International’s Main Jyoti Tu Jwala was out on August 16. The film, being readied for September release, is produced and directed by A Kumar. Sheetal Bedi, Satnam Kaur, Amit Pachori, Raza Murad, Shehzad Khan, Mushtaq Khan, Ali Khan, Anil Nagrath, Yunus Parvez, Shashi Kiran, Kulbir Kaur, Prashant Jaiswal, Raman Wadhwan, Kishore Bhanushali, Feroze Khan, Birbal, Manmoujee, Pinky Chinoy and Shakti Kapoor comprise the main cast. Written by Shikha Johari, it has lyrics by Vinay Bihari, music by Babla Bagchi, cinematography by Ashok Rao, dances by Habiba Rehman, Chimpu Nayyar and Dilip Mestry, action by Mukhtar Khan, and editing by Sunil Kotian.

Dubbing begins
Khooni Bistar

Dubbing of Kumar Mangalam Films’ Khooni Bistar began on August 4 at Film City. The film is produced by Pradeep Agarwal and Dr. Kumar and directed by Tilak Raj. It stars Anmol, Rajeev Raaj, Siddharth, Raza Murad, Ali Khan, Kishore Bhanushali, Anil Nagrath, Birbal, Poonam, Mahesh Raaj, Dr. Kumar, Nisha and Jay Kalgutkar. Music by Nagendra-Santosh, dialogue by Baldev Prased, and cinematography by Shayamal Chakravorty are the other credits.

Kumar Sanu sings
Yeh Tadap

Kumar Sanu, Barkha Pandit and Vrushaali rendered all the five songs of Aaghaz Movies’ Yeh Tadap on July 29 and 30 at Techno Sounds. Penned by Tauseef Sultanpuri, they were set to tune by Jolly. The film is being produced and directed by Fahim Khan and stars newfinds Altamash, Anshu Khanna, Faiz Khan, Karanjeet Singh, Abbas Chauhan, Sipra, Aniroddh, Faizal Qureshi, Sanjeev Kumar, Keshto Parwane, Mani Bhooshan, Rahul Kumar (Junior Laxmikant Berde), Sujata, Meghna Desai, Sarpreet, Anil Jingade alongwith Sunil Bob, Shiva and Pramod Moutho. Written by Tauseef Sultanpuri, it has cinematography by Deepak Duggal, and action by Zeferbhai.

3-day spell

Producer Ajay Kumar and director Teerath Singh held a three-day shooting schedule for their Atlanta Production No.3 from August 7 to 9 at Film City, Chandivali and MBA Studios, Mumbai wherein action, talkie and blasting scenes were picturised on Raza Murad, Ali Khan, Tej Sapru, Kirti Shetty and Anjali Kolhapure and many fighters and horses. Meanwhile music director Parveen Kumar recorded three songs at Jigar Recording Studios, Mumbai. This was followed by another shooting schedule from August 11 at various locales of Mumbai.

Katil Jawani
Music directors Gunwant-Raaj have recorded all the five songs for Lovely Pictures’ Katil Jawani recently at Satwika Studio. Penned by Nayyar Jaunpuri, they were rendered by Babul Supriyo, Chandane, Dixit, Prabh Bharti and Sangeeta Jha. The film is being produced by Mahboob Khan (Zamin) and Kernal Dutt and directed by Karnal Dutta. It is written by A Chakraborty and Ashish Chatterjee. The cast and other credits of the film are being finalised.
