Dr Rama Naidu’s unique celebration
Normally functions are organised after the success of the film but Dr D Rama Naidu decided to celebrate in a unique manner by organising a grand function at Tirupati to celebrate the success of three of his productions; Preminchukun-dam Raa, Ganesh and Kalisundam Raa. His son Venkatesh stars in all the three films.

With eight hits in a row, Venkatesh is riding high on success. His recent film Kalisundam Raa celebrated silver jubilee run in the new millennium and grossed more than Rs 25 crores setting a new record in collections in the annals of Telugu cinema. Besides commercial success, it also bagged the National Award for the Best Regional Film. Venkatesh and Simran played the main lead in this wholesome entertainer. It was helmed by debutant Uday Shankar and produced by Suresh Babu. The music of SA Rajkumar drew repeat audience and it was declared a musical hit from day one.

The venue, SV University Open Auditorium, was packed despite a drizzle threatening to turn into a downpour making it one of the best-organised shows in recent times. Bigwigs from film industry and political circles graced the occasion with chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu as the chief guest and was presided over by Mr Balayogi, Speaker of the Lok Sabha. And other guest of honour were T Subbirami Reddy, minister Sivaprasad, director K Raghavendra Rao, Soundarya, B Gopal besides many leading producers.

In his address the chief minister said, "Naidu has entered the Guinness Book and is known for making good films. Similarly he will serve his constituency and make it a model constituency in the state". Dr Rama Naidu in this welcome address reiterated that he would like to make films in all Indian languages. He said "I dedicate this film to the audience as it is they who have made a good film such a massive hit". Even actor Venkatesh and T Subbirami Reddy spoke at the function. Mementoes were also given away to artistes, technicians and exhibitors of the three films at the function.

Choreographer Lawrence entertained the viewers with his dance numbers and the crowd went berserk when Venkatesh and Simran joined the group for chart buster Nache Pallapita. Naidu gave a finishing touch by shaking his hip at the fag end of the song and drew great applause.
