Two young men, full of life and born to entertain, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Raj Kanwar, who have realised the art of Hindi film entertainment through experience, come together to make a love story. They know there have been crowds of love stories made but they plan to make a love story which will both entertain and enlighten. They have their own strong beliefs about love (they are young after all). They firmly believe that love is the only remedy for all ills ailing society, believe that it is only lovers who genuinely believe in love till the end who can save the world. The only enemy of love is hatred and hatred can haunt the world as one endless land of fire. And serpents with tongues out to swallow as many men, women and children. There will be just hell, no heaven, no paradise, only hell, the kingdom of king lucifer also known as Satan.

Sajid and Raj have gone out of their ways (and means) to make a film called Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega (remember the songs late Raj Kapoor, late Rajendra Kumar and Vyjayanthimala sang in Sangam made more than 30 years ago?)

HDJPK is all about the great need for love today, love as it was first created, love before love was turned into sin by man. "Almost every film is all about love these days but you see our love story and you will fall in love all over again. You will love to live again, love again and again," director Raj Kanwar says.

It’s a love story which starts on a very low note. Raj (Salman Khan) is an orphan from Goa whose only dream is to make it as a leading singer in Mumbai.

Raj keeps trying his best. He knows he is the best but finds it very difficult to convince men who don’t love music but only sell music. He is almost about to give up, disappointed, disillusioned, frustrated. Till something unexpected happens. Destiny once again plays a crucial hand in Raj’s story. He saves the beautiful Pooja (Rani Mukerji) from sure death in an accident. Pooja lies in coma. Her family is very grateful to Raj. They ask him to live with them.
They are jubiliant. They are so mad with happiness that they are even willing to accept Raj as Pooja’s husband.

This young man, Raj, is a very sharp man, with a wild imagination. He creates a love life of his own imagination. He feels, thinks, creates stories and builds dreams about a girl he is in love with, a girl he has never seen before.

No, the love story doesn’t take a serious twist or turn. But Raj falls in love with another girl, Preity Zinta, who by a quirk of fate turns out to be Pooja’s best friend. The film is made under Sajid’s banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Ltd., a company which is comparatively new but has made a name for itself mainly because of the hard work and mission of its founder, Sajid. "Entertainment is a mission for me, entertainment which takes on the task of a mission if possible, especially," Sajid says.

Raj Kanwar, the director, who has made films like Deewana, Laadla, Jaan and Judaai among others and who is making Dhai Akshar Prem Ke with Abhishek Bachchan now promises “to give love a new meaning, a simple but sweet meaning which I guarantee to change souls with love.”

Music according to both Sajid and Raj is the life of their film and they have tried to add life to the music. The lyrics by Sameer and music by Anu Malik "have to be highlights of the film if the film has to spread the light of entertainment all over".

The cast which makes a big difference to the rare love story - Salman Khan, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor, Razzak Khan, Asrani, Satish Shah, Rajiv Verma, Rekha Rao and the veteran Kamini Kaushal.

Sajid has confidence in his film because he has confidence in true love. And true love he believes will always triumph. Like true love, his film about true love will also triumph, he says. And I don’t think any man or woman with a heart will not believe in. What Sajid and Raj have done for love, love will never forget. That’s the feeling I get when I hear stories about the hard work they have put in in making the film. No love, no world, think of it. It will help make the world a better place.
