Boyzone’s
Stephen Gately to visit Mumbai
By
Salma Khatib
Stephen
Gately, one of the singers of the highly successful UK boyband,
Boyzone, will be in India on July 31. The singer is among
the first of the group to make his solo debut with the album
aptly titled New Beginning, and he will be in India to promote
his solo effort. During his visit, Stephen will give a couple
of private performances before selected invitees.
Boyzone are among the most successful boybands in music history.
Over the last seven years, they have notched up no less than
six number one singles, and four number one albums. Stephen,
with his boyish looks, is among the most popular singers of
the band, which was obvious when he was named the Irish
Personality of the Year, followed by another title,
Hero Of 1999 at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party.
The 24-year-old singer broke his female fans heart when
he revealed he was gay. But he also won appreciation for his
honesty. New Beginning was released in UK on May 29, and debuted
in the third position in the countdown charts.
