BOX - OFFICE

Zor off to flying start
Zor opened to an overwhelming response all over. It has action-man Sunny Deol being paired for the first time with ex-Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, and the director, Sangeet Sivan, makes his debut with this film. The film happens to be the first big film to be released this year and has been sold at a price of 1 crore 75 lakhs per territory.

KAMA SUTRA
After getting a bumper initial, the film continued its good run all over India. It has been sold at a reasonable price and is expected to do a minimum business of more than 1 to 1 1/2 crore per territory, with the exception of CI circuit. At the end of the first week, the collections of this Mira Nair film were a good 87.5 per cent.

VINASHAK
At the end of the second week the film was a wash-out all over India. After an okay opening, the collections continued dropping, and this Sunil Shetty-Raveena Tandon-starrer never recovered, inspite of mind-blowing action. The second-week collections were below 50 per cent.

BANARASI BABU
The fate of this Govinda-Ramya comic caper was the same as Vinashak, with the film failing to make any impact on the audiences. The collections for the second week were way below 40 per cent.

HAFTA VASULI
This Jackie Shroff-starrer recorded dismally low collections at the end of the second week, so much so that it won’t even recover the theatre rent.
