Yes Man
Producers: Richard D Zanuck, David Heyman
Director: Peyton Reed
Writers: Nicholas Stoller, Jarrad Paul, Andrew Mogel
Cast: Jim Carrey, Terence Stamp, Fionnula Flanagan

Carl (Jim Carrey) is in depression for three years ever since his lady love walked out of his life. He has been avoiding his friends and not returning his messages for all that time. His negative stance makes it easy to do his job, which amounts to denying loan applications. One day he’s dragged to a meeting of Say Yes!, which is one of those many con games that abound in world that convince large numbers of people to fill hotel convention rooms and fill coffers for those who have share life-saving tactics via a PowerPoint presentation. Terrence Bindley
(Terence Stamp) turns Carl’s life around by saying “yes!” to everything. He even becomes the most popular loan officer and his bank’s most coveted employee. And falls in love with Allison (Zooey Deschanel), who he clearly doesn’t deserve.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
The film suffers from mediocrity all round. The script is so predictable and filled with some lewd moments that I wish I hadn’t said “Yes” to reviewing this film. Jim Carrey’s hamming only makes the experience worse. The one glimmer of hope is Zooey Deschane, such a beauty and a splendid actress. She’s the best thing that happened to the film. Terrence Stamp puts his mark on the conmen tribe. Otherwise just say no to Yes Man.

Verdict
One star for Zooey Deschanel’s presence and performance and Terence Stamp’s cameo.
