Vivek visits old Hyderabad

After wrapping-up the shoot of Prince-Its Showtime and carrying out quite a few action stunts, Vivek Oberoi is shooting for the biopic Rakta Charitra in Hyderabad. The actor is playing a character based on the life of Paritala Ravi, a communist who went onto become a Member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly as a representative from the Telugu Desam Party. And with a long start-to-finish schedule of the Ram Gopal Varma film in the offing, the actor who started shooting on October 12 has no break in sight. According to a source associated with the film, Vivek is shooting across sets and real locations, especially at old Hyderabad. This as the film spans through the 80s and 90s and showcases the city as it looked before the IT boom. Meanwhile, Southern star Surya, who plays the parallel lead along with Vivek, is yet to join the unit. Being produced by Madhu Mantena in association with Sheetal Vinod Talwar, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Kangna’s Knockout act
Kangna Ranaut is living out of a suitcase. The actress, who returned to Mumbai last week from Lucknow after the first schedule of Anand Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu with R Madhavan, immediately left for Pune to join the unit of Knockout. A thriller being directed by Mani Shankar, the Sohail Maklai film sees her playing a journalist in a skirt-blouse look. The actress is currently shooting with co-stars Sanjay Dutt and Irrfan Khan in real locations at the Magarpatta in Pune. With Dutt and Khan shooting action scenes in the city since October 25, the Pune shoot is expected to wrap-up by next week.
