US authorities should have googled SRK: Farah Khan

Farah khanFarah didn’t waste an opportunity to take a jibe at the US security procedures.
After cousin Farhan Akhtar and pal Shah Rukh Khan bit the TV hosting bug, choreographer-director Farah Khan is revelling in her latest avatar — of a talk show host on Tere Mere Beach Mein, a one-hour chat show with celebrities that begins on August 23 on Star Plus. “From the outset this might seem just another chat show, but we’ve tried a different format,” says Farah, casually dressed in a blue top and jeans at The Claridges.

The show is divided into different segments; each episode dealing with a particular theme. “We have had Salman Khan coming on our show with his mother for the theme ‘Mama’s Boy’ and both of them ended up revealing facts we didn’t know,” she says. The show also involves the audience — anybody can quiz the celebrity on how they deal with certain challenges. There is even an agony aunt section where the guest listens to the personal problems of the audience and offers solutions. Farah, meanwhile, says movies aren’t over for her yet and she’s planning to get down to writing the script for her next film, Happy New Year, starring Shah Rukh. “There have been delays because of Shah Rukh’s shoulder injury. If all goes well, the casting will be done soon and we can begin shooting by year-end,” says Farah, whose last SRK outing was Om Shanti Om in 2007. With the big noise surrounding SRK’s run-in with the US Border and Customs officials, Farah didn’t waste an opportunity to take a jibe at the US security procedures. “If they had just shown presence of mind and googled him, they would have known who they were dealing with,” she says. We’ll wait for Shah Rukh’s point of view on Tere Mere Beach Mein.

SRK's first love.- Dollers by Hemant Bhosale; Hyderabad on 2009-08-21 22:50:57.671587+05:30 If SRK has little self respect; he should have refused and come back by first availble flight. But; No. He was dreaming Dollers. So aqll this third rate drama is for more publicity. He realised; in future if he does'nt go to USA; how many dollers; he shall loose. So he declared that he shall again go to USA. Can any self respecting person who has hurt shall go again to USA. But SRK shall go for dollers which is proof that hurt

What about Patels? by RB on 2009-08-21 17:45:56.605203+05:30 US always dicriminted Patels who wanted to visit the country no matter what the purpose of their visit is stated. Where was the support for them? Mr SRK really believes that he is Royalty (actually a lot of his supporters and media feel they owe it to him). He has milked the NRI card for last 14 years. It is time you say ENOUGH! (in any event, his movies are not know to be thought provoking cutting edge cinema i.e. you will not miss much anyways).

Shahrukh Khan SRK by Sunil on 2009-08-20 06:28:26.137254+05:30 ShahRukh Khan is like any other Guy and not above the law. There is no reason to treat him like a celebrity. He does not even look like an Actor and qualify to be an Actor. US authorities cannot be expected to know all the guys in the world. So, USA authorities have done nothing wrong and only done their job. Keep up the good work TSA of protecting this country and its citizens!!

From Khan to another Khan. Do these people even think before opening their mouths. We do have intellectuals like Kalam Sahab and he is the only one amongst all the big wigs that has shown class. Farah...funny or foolish? by Kay Kay on 2009-08-20 04:59:26.181924+05:30 Farah seems to be sold on power of google. If she googles 'Khan' she will see the reputation of other 'Khans'..Salman Khan the killer of six innocents with drunk driving; Fardin Khan caught with narcotics; SRK evading taxes on foreign income...all still remaining unpunished in India. In any other country, including the Islamic fatherland K.S.A., these worthies would have been made to pay for their crimes. America respects all individuals and punishes all law-breakers equally. She should advise Indian authorities to learn from U.S.A. instead advising America on how to run their country. Farah, Ambika, Praful Patel, K.J. AND Co; pl. do not expose your intellectual bankruptcy by making such statements, learn from downright denouncement from your countrymen. Read comments and may wisdom dawn on you.

Star Dust by Borun D. Chowdhury on 2009-08-20 04:00:18.808688+05:30 This is ridiculous. If Farah Khan is complaining about harassment meted out on religious grounds then its fine. However apart from that SRK is an absolute nobody. He has shown some acting talent in movies like 'Chak De..' and 'Swadesh' but apart from that he doesn't qualify as an actor either. So on what basis does he expect exceptional treatment when good actors, scientists, artists aren't getting any ? Grow up.

Shahrukh Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo by jigna on 2009-08-20 02:45:32.613973+05:30 Well said and I have nothing more to add. I agree with all comments. They possibly know what they are into. Shahrukh should stop acting high and mighty. He should thank his stars he was not behind bars. We do not know what this actors real intentions were. He does have links and proclaims and glorifies with pakis which is the biggest hub of terrorists. People visit him back in Mumbai too from there, just before 26/11, he had pakis at home. why are Indians getting stirred this traitor never said a word of sympathy towards the victims of terrorism and you sobs are supporting him. US consulate should not issue him a visa and to all the Khans to be noted and Farah Khan. He is making a mockery of USA immigration laws. To tell you one we care a damn for Shahrukh including his chamchas and chamchis. Boycott this crappy actor a greedy publicity crazy.

Farah, SRK and the ilk ... read this first by Ashok on 2009-08-20 00:55:43.90322+05:30 USA is a land of law. Everyone is treated with equality and respect. Great people in true sense like - Senator Kennnedy and former USA VP Al Gore have gone through such searches at airports in the past and they didn't utter a single word against the officers. I have gone through this myself and thank for doing their duty and keeping us safe. If you cannot abide by the law and instead assume yourself above the law you can choose not to visit US. The real damage this clown SRK has done is for the Indian Americans who live in US, respect this land for the opportunity and tolerance. Please I ask you not to visit US if you cannot leave back your false ego at home. We don't need you or your advice as to how to conduct the security. This VIP culture works in India and not in US. This is a perfect opportunity for India to learn from this incident and end the VIP/babus culture.

Farah ...filmi fool by Kishore on 2009-08-20 00:47:11.273425+05:30 If you are stupid, should you make such a public show of your foolishness? If website could vouch for person's status and honesty, even members of D company would score. Nations don't base their security checks on wbsite certificates--if you knew how to use websites, you would have done so before making such a stupid advise to one of the best security agencies in the world. SRK is a nobody to the world outside India, If he doesn't like security measures of some countries, he should stay home. And did he come to U.S. for love of India or to make dollars? And he is trying to malign a country where a common man feels secure just due ti security measures followed by her government. I do hope the Khans, including Farah stop visiting countries where all are treated alike. Ane why did Farah not open her mouth when others were subjected to similar checks? When it happens to your buddy, "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai". Farah? Pl. grow up,at least chronologically!

Let the Indians live atleast in USA by Siva on 2009-08-19 21:42:28.560395+05:30 Please do not make this an issue. Guys like SRK is a shame to India. Please do not destroy the life of Indians living in USA. People from India travel across the world and work hard to make a living. Please don't spoil their lives. When you make a big deal of this, it is actually not helping indians. It's creating more frustation among the US border security officials! India is not a country that absorbs talents. It is a country of reservations (caste, religion, family), which makes the average Indian to flee the country in search of a living, and USA welcomes them. So please let them live! Dear SRK, please don't make the lives of Indians more and more harder than it's already is!!!

SRK Stupid Club by OneLifeOnly on 2009-08-19 14:28:45.75431+05:30 Things are going really stupid and cheap in roof-topping the incident and the support it has got from some quarters. Three quick points: (1) When our ex-president Dr. Kalam was frisked at our own airport by an American airliner, no body came to know about it for months together. There is a lesson for u SRK! (2) Other day an American police man did not hesitate to arrest (?) one of their top nationally famous professor, leading to the 'bear party' with president Obama. What do u infer from this Mr. SRK? (3) Dear SRK, if u r assulted several times by a particular community, will u not be careful about that community? No rocket science yaar! And no offence to other gentle people of that community. Thats exactly what Americans are doing. They have no problem with u or ur surname; they have problem with ur religion. Try to understand them.

This idiotic lady thinks googling can bypass security checks by Rahul on 2009-08-19 13:00:14.038608+05:30 SRK is doing lots of publicity stunts since last year or so, and his masculine director friend and superidiotic choreographer lady r supporting thm blindly. For eg. in last year's IPL, SRK started watching his team play from VIP area in stadium, and then jumped into dressing room dancing like clowns. When ICC/BCCI objected, he created lot of hype in media. Then, for foolish movie billoo, he created a controversy in the name, thn for this year IPL, he created lots of controversies, questioning gavasakar's knowledge to the most over hyped multiple captaincy theory. Then, when he couldnt handle his team losses in SA, he returned by saying He is coming back to cast his vote. How stupid one can get. Then, when emraan haashmi gave some baseless comments, he again utilized the opportunity by giving 2-3 pages interview, that this can never happen, and if happened, there is no need for a hype. Now, for My Name is Khan, he is creating all this global publicity shit, similar to what haashmi did.

Farahji, googling to establish natonal security.......?? by Amit Purohit on 2009-08-19 12:52:34.122831+05:30 Googling for national security is wierrd thought and will never find many takers.Following the same line if I try for antinationals and anti Indians, my whole search stops at many common names and that doesnt make a sense to know that whether one was or is my infamous neighbour.Absolute things about person cannot be changed.Being ardent fan or friend can make you to pacify him but the grounds of national security must never be altered and it is another thingto present the case in mild mood.I sincerely feel he must not have made a fuss out of a procedure and even then he does than he it may becuase of his political affiliation and patrons in the current day ruling party.Afterall many people commenting cannot be wrong at same time and in life one has to be on recieving end also not necesarily awards all the time, take some checks also.

Farah- the advisor to U.S. security agencies by Kishore Karnad on 2009-08-19 11:20:11.362247+05:30 This is the height of stupidity. Farah should know that guarding a vast nation is not like hosting a television show re-hashed from popular American ones. Security agencies do not depend on websites; they neither have need nor time to such tasks. She and her like should read hundreds of comments squarely condemning SRK's unreasonable outburst against a perfectly routine security procedure and have the decency to accept that despite what is written on some website, SRK is and continue to remain just a visitor like any other. USA is not Bollywood to pamper whims of actors nor would American securitymen bend backward to some socalled celebrity. So, keep your valuable advise reserved for comedy shows on Indian television.
