The film, Bhatt says, will explore the collapse of value system in the country through the eyes of a police officer who cracks the murder mystery.

Bhatt and his script-writer Shagufta Rafique have already met Mumbai's Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria, who cracked the case, for inputs on the sensational killing of Neeraj Grover, apparently fallout of a love triangle.

"This film will tell the story through the eyes of a police officer, who is based on Maria who cracked the real life case. We will try to explore the collapse of the value system and family system through our film," Bhatt said.

Already working on the script, Rafique said, "We are neither trying to sensationalise the murder nor make a documentary out of it. The film will explore the reasons as to what led to this tragic end of three young, educated people."

Grover, creative head of Synergy Adlabs, was allegedly killed by film actress Marrayya Monica Susayraj (27) and her boyfriend Lt M L Jerome Mathew (25). His body was then chopped into pieces by the two.

Though the real-life story has all the ingredients of a Bollywood potboiler, Bhatt said, he was not trying to demonise Grover, Susayraj or Mathew.

"The film is an extension of my last film Jannat. It is the story of young India which is ready to cross the 'Laxman Rekha' of all values to get what they want," he said. Bhatt, on his part, feels that society must learn from this bizarre murder case where "two young people commit a murder, have no remorse for it and don't want to take the responsibility of it as well".

Susayraj acted in four Kannada films before coming to Mumbai in March this year to get into Hindi serials.

She had also auditioned for the newer version of Mahabharata and came in contact with Grover.

Bhatt's Jism also has a similar story of crime and passion but this time around he wants to bring out the story on the silver screen through the eyes of a police officer which will be played by a younger hero.

The real hero of the film will be Maria, the police officer responsible for cracking the horrific murder case, he said.

"Maria will be the real hero in our film, who as a responsible police officer cracked the murder and who is saddened by the loss of three young lives like this," he said.
