Neha Dhupia
With Love To Obama complete its last scheduled in the hilly terrains of Mahabaleshwar

Set: Khatau Villa has been converted into Amole Gupte’s (who plays a politician in the film) residence. A name plate, reading Dhananjai Singh and his stern-looking portrait greet you at the entrance. The bungalow has an old-world charm, there are rifles nailed on one side, while some paintings hang on the other. The centre table-top is made of marble, while mugs and plates are placed on the wooden dining-table.

Scene: It is the second last day of the shoot and a scene is being filmed on Amole Gupte and Neha Dhupia. Amole is attired in a dark suit, a gold chain peeping out from one side, while Neha looks almost unrecognisable in a brown Patiala salwar and kurta, her hair in a plait. In this scene Neha, who plays a gangster in the film, has come to strike a deal with Amole for Rajat Kapoor, an NRI she has abducted. The assistant director shouts “Action” and instinctively Amole stares at Neha and in slow, low tones says, "Tu dhande ki purani khiladi hai.” In retaliation, Neha walks menacingly towards him saying, “Main jaanti hoon.” The shot is okayed after four takes. In the lawns surrounding the bungalow, Rajat, sporting a stubble, relaxes in the shade.

The plot: Writer-director Subhash Kapoor (his first film was Salaam India) reveals that the film is a satire on recession. "It is a whacky take on the recession in the US, and its impact on the people of India. The story is told through the journey of an NRI who leaves US because of recession and lands in his hometown Merrut, to get abducted by gangsters who are also facing the impact of recession on their business! It also sends a message to the president of the US that any step taken by him has an impact on world economy. The story is set in North India.

The cast: The director reveals that as he wrote the film, Neha, whom he had seen in Ek Chalis Ki Last Local seemed perfect for the role of gangster Munni. But it surprised the actress who thought she was an unlikely choice. But once she rehearsed for the expletive-spouting, rifle-wielding gangster she felt it was the most interesting character she had portrayed. "My character Munni madame is very strong tough and anti-men. The audience will be surprised to see me in this deglam avatar. Initially apprehensive, now I want to thank Subhash for thinking of me," she says. Om Shastri is the NRI who is kidnapped by Rajat didn't prepare much for his part, saying that he only reads the script, and prepares the character mentally. Amole, says that he was excited by the script. As for any similarity to his character in Kaminey he laughs, "The similarity ends with the beard."

Expectations: The entire cast, the director and the producer, Ashok Pandey who is an NRI from the States, are very excited about the film and all are hoping that they can convince president Obama to come for the premiere of the film as a visit to India is scheduled for this year!
