Kakul
Kakul was missing for sometime now and her family including her husband Samman finally traced her to an asylum at Patna. But on-screen, it’s a new Kakul now with Anisha Kapoor playing the lead in Ghar Ek Sapna

Weren’t you afraid of doing a role that Shayantani was earlier essaying?
I was not following the show at all, nor had I any reference of the role. But when Ajaiji approached me and talked to me about the role, I took it as a challenge, fully knowing that it wouldn’t be easy to play a role that my predecessor was playing with perfection.

What was your feeling while accepting to play Kakul’s character?
It is not easy for someone new to play a character that was established in the serial. Though the role was nice, it wasn’t easy to get attracted to it. I knew very well that once I show my interest I would have to play the role with that amount of ease with which Shayantani was essaying. I had to build a lot of confidence within myself and then there was no stopping for me. The challenge that I took has made me enjoy my job.

What about the other senior artistes? Were they cooperative?
All the artistes including Shammiji, Alok Nathji,Vineetji and Himani Shivpuriji are seasoned artistes. The first two days were a little frightening, but I found them to be very cooperative and now I feel very comfortable working with them.

Are you liking your role?
I am enjoying my role and am also happy to note that people have been liking my performance. My producers have been getting feedback from viewers that I fit into the shoes of Shayantani perfectly.

Have you done any other serials earlier?
Yes. I have done three serials including this one; they being Dahej for 9X, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann for Doordarshan.
