For Parvin Dabas, the grass is green on all sides. On the one hand, the actor is counting days to his wedding to actress Preeti Jhangiani and on the other, he is preparing to act in a comic caper, Sirf- Life looks greener on the other side.

Dabbas, who is usually seen playing serious roles, will finally be seen in a rib-tickler. “I play a Mumbai-bred advertising professional who is newly married to a rural girl (Rituparna Sengupta). She is trying hard to adjust in the city. He is a good guy who loves his wife and his work. Although the scenes involve a lot of comedy, it is very real at some level and masses can connect to it,” he says about Sirf.

Apart from Sirf, Dabas has his hands full with N Chandra’s Ye Mera India, Arindam Nandy’s Via Dajeeling, Sanjay Gupta’s Alibaug and Shamim Sariff’s English movie The World Unseen starring Lisa Ray. Apart from acting, he has also lent his voice for the upcoming Rajiv Maikhuri mythological animation—Secrets of the Seven Sounds. He says, “The animated movie is due to release in July.”

Is Dabas a bundle of nerves now that it’s only a few days to his wedding? “Not really,” the actor says, “With Preeti and I, it was not love at first sight. It happened gradually over a period of time while talking to her. I realised that she would be my life partner. I proposed to her about one year ago. She is very sensitive and has influenced me a lot in my outlook towards life.”

Although much has been written about their wedding, Dabas insists that he doesn’t want to talk about it. He merely says, “One of the receptions will take place in Delhi. Close family and friends will attend.” Will the couple do films together? “It is upto film directors to cast us. We don’t plan to push ourselves for any project,” he says.
