Dileep to act in a Kamal Haasan film
For Dileep, acting in a Kamal Haasan directed movie should be like homecoming. Dileep had started his career in films as an assistant to Kamal Haasan on the directorial side and then only had he turned an actor. Dileep, who has teamed up with Kamal Haasan last in the much-acclaimed Perumazhakaalam, is once again all set to team up with his guru. Though not much details about the project are available at this stage, it’s heard that the film will start rolling in a couple of months’ time. To be scripted jointly by Kamal and Kalavoor Ravikumar, the film would also have Tamil actor Sathyaraj in a key role. To be shot in different parts of Kerala and also in Mysore, the film will have P. Sukumar as the cinematographer.
Ganesh’s new avatar!
Here comes ‘Golden Star’ Ganesh in a new avatar! Kannada actor Ganesh is now all set to turn producer, having launched his own production house, Golden Productions. It is all set to produce a film titled Maleyali Jotheyali. It will be directed by Preetham Gubbi, who had earlier directed Mungaru Male. Ganesh, who hasn’t been fortunate to get a hit of late, is the hero while two heroines are yet to be finalised. Krishna, who had cranked the camera for Mungaru Male, will be the cinematographer while Harikrishna will be the music director. More details are awaited.
Suhasini to direct a Kannada film
Suhasini, one of the most versatile actresses in the south and the wife of noted director Mani Ratnam, is reportedly planning to direct a film in Kannada. It should be remembered that Suhasini had directed a Tamil film Indira years ago. But she could not find time for direction as she was busy about her son’s education and family matters. Now that she is free, she is reportedly thinking of directing a film, that too in Kannada. More details are awaited. It’s heard that this project is likely to take off next year.
Arjun makes a comeback in Kannada
Tamil star Arjun, popularly known as ‘Action King’, is all set to make a comeback to Kannada after a long gap. Arjun will reportedly be playing the title role in Hoysala, directed by Ramu. The film was earlier planned (a couple of years ago) with Shivarajkumar in the lead, but now as Shivarajkumar won’t be doing the role, it’s heard that Arjun has been chosen for the role. Arjun was supposed to make a comeback with another film, Sangolli Rayanna, but since it seems that the project won’t happen in the near future, Arjun is concentrating on Hoysala.
