Maternal conversations

The story of Suno Na... revolves around an unwed mother and her child. Spurned by her lover, she takes an extreme step and decides to commit suicide. But she abstains from doing so when she thinks about the child she has been carrying.

Making her unborn child her strength, she decides to move to a city, find work, give birth to it and start a new life. The film takes a turn when the mother and the child, who is still in the womb, start talking to each other. Mother and child bond through their interactions and even end up singing a duet.

Their conversations are spurred by the child’s need to know many things. He asks his mother of her life, life in the outer world and even about his father. The story also revolves around three men who come in to the mother’s life while she is pregnant.

Director
Amy Thanawala

“The idea for Suno Na... originated as a thought in my head. I worked on the idea for two years and came up with the script and screenplay for the film.

The film is about a small kid interacting with his mother while it is still inside the womb. This interaction between the mother and her child and the way it transforms their lives is the crux of our film.

Tara, who plays the lead in the film, was a new name for me. I met her for the first time and honestly I had gone there with very little hope. But, once I met Tara, I knew she had it in her. The kind of dedication, time and energy she put into the role was phenomenal. Makrand Sharma is also a part of the film and his comic talent has lent a great deal to Suno Na... .

This film is a light-hearted, feel-good film with lots of warm emotions. I hope the audiences will thoroughly enjoy this unique cinema experience.”

THE BUZZ
Suno Na... is far from being the talk of B-town. But this small film is reeling high on a unique story. The film is directed and produced by Amy Thanawala, who has assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Khamoshi and John Matthew Matthan on Sarfarosh.
