Sonam Kapoor has just wrapped up work on her father’s production Aisha, which is an adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Emma. If she is paired opposite Abhay Deol in Aisha, she has just signed up for Anees Bazmee’s next film Thank You, a comedy with Akshay Kumar. Comedy is a genre that Sonam has never attempted and she is very excited to be a part of this film. Thank You will go on the floors after she wraps up shooting for Dharma Productions’ I Hate Luv Stories. Directed by Punit Malhotra, Sonam is paired opposite Imran in the film. Though the actress has been maintaining a low profile, she was last spotted launching the music album of a 12-year-old Raveena, who belongs to Bharat Shah’s family.
This year Shah Rukh Khan’s IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders will not have a new team anthem. The team will be using last year’s anthem and music video for the IPL promotions this time too. The team’s jersey is also another matter of concern for Shah Rukh Khan. Though the official jerseys are available at leading stores, rip-offs of the original are available at four times lesser the price at several places in Mumbai. To curb this problem, Shah Rukh has decided to come up with another range of tee’s that are affordable. IPL aside, the superstar has also roped in international R‘n’B singer Akon to sing in his home production Ra.1. Anubhav Sinha’s Ra.1 which is a sci-fi superhero film, has Shah Rukh and Kareena Kapoor playing the lead roles.
Suniel Shetty’s adventure water-sports complex H20 in Mumbai ,which had been sealed last year by the city collector for non-payment of entertainment tax, may re-open very soon. The actor is in talks with the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation to reopen the place. The hangout will be open to public but in all probability with a new name. The actor’s restaurant Mischief Dining Bar has also been replaced by a new restaurant, Little Italy. The restobar had served Indian and Chinese cuisine, while this one will serve pure Italian food. Suniel Shetty will be next seen in Ananth Mahadevan’s Red Alert, a film that highlights the issue of Naxalism.
