He has also to his credit first time director Muddassar Aziz’s film titled Dulha Mil Gaya wherein he is opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen. The film has been produced and written by Vivek Vaswani and is co-written by Muddassar Aziz. Acid Factory is directed by Suparn Verma for Sanjay Gupta’s banner White Feather Films. Along with Fardeen, the film has Dia Mirza, Irrfan Khan, Manoj Bajpai, Dino Morea, Aftab Shivdasani and Danny Denzongpa.
Arjun Rampal began the year shooting for an ad with Oscar-winning Australian actress Nicole Kidman in Udaipur. It was directed by Shekhar Kapur for producer Sir Ridley Scott. He was also one of the guests at Cannes.
John Abraham’s loss was Arjun’s gain after the former refused to play the male lead in the Indian version of Chris Columbus’ Stepmom. To be made under the banner of Dharma Productions, it is to be directed by Karan Johar and has Kajol and Kareena Kapoor together once again after Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.... He also has Zee Motion Pictures’ first Hindi production titled Fox. Directed by Deepak Tijori, it has Sagarika Ghatge and Udita Goswami in the female leads. Incidentally, Arjun and Sunny Deol come together for the first time in this film. Shot in Mumbai and exotic locales of Goa, the suspenseful thriller has Arjun playing a criminal lawyer. Arjun plays a serious role, that of a politician, in Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti. The strict and disciplined director made him live, breathe and dream his character. He also had to get his hair cut short for the role. Others in the cast are Manoj Bajpai, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif.
More than her films and performances, Lara Dutta is being talked about for her split with Kelly Dorjee and her link-up with Dino Morea. Her last release was Billu. Of her forthcoming films, she has Anthony D’Souza-directed Blue wherein apparently she has worn a bikini. Produced by Dhillin Mehta, the action film shot in Bahamas also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan. Due for Diwali release, it is written by American writers Joshua Lurie and Bryan M. Sullivan. Kylie Minogue makes a guest appearance in the film. In Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai, Lara has been paired with Govinda for the first time. Made under the banner of BR Films and directed by Ravi Chopra, the film was in the news recently, when Chopra got a legal notice from American Studio Fox for lifting the Hollywood film My Cousin Vinny. Lara also has Do Knot Disturb. Produced byVashu Bhagnani and directed by David Dhawan, it has Govinda, Riteish Deshmukh, Sushmita Sen, Ranvir Shorey and Rajpal Yadav.
