Sood plays an aghora who lives in the forests. It was tough shooting for the role, he states, as his make-up took over five hours. There was a special team of make-up artistes to do his face as well as his body which had mantras written all over. He also developed an allergy because of wearing make-up for long hours. He had to wear long hair, which was a hindrance. There were a lot of stunts on glass pieces because of which he even hurt his back and there were a lot of scars on his body. The long hours of shooting also would take toll on the actor. “It was not an easy character to portray,” he says. Having done several films in Tamil and Telugu, the actor says that language is not a problem for him and he has dubbed his own lines in the film.
When he signed the film and even while shooting, Sood says that he never thought his character would be liked. He even confesses that he was scared while watching the film. Now he is glad that his efforts in director Kodi’s and producer Shyam Prasad’s film really paid off and that after this he is being openly welcomed by the audience there. In January next, the producers are planning to make Arundhati in Hindi.
His next Telugu film is with Kangna Ranaut. Ek Niranjan has been shot in Bangkok and Hyderabad and has a lot of action that he loves to do. Kangna, he says, she is a fun-loving girl and a great co-star. City Of Life, his English film, is to be premiered at the Dubai Film Festival in December. He also has the action drama Dabangg along with Salman Khan.
