I’ve always wanted to try new things and reach out to the world. It is in my nature to experiment with a variety of roles in reel and real lives. With So Kool, on Star Majha, it’s again a completely new experience because it’s a venture between my brother, Sandesh Kulkarni, and me. He is the director.
What’s cool about So Kool?
Firstly, the anchor herself is very cool. Secondly, it has got a unique concept: I will be talking to various personalities who have achieved success in different spheres. They are interviewed at their own workplaces which could be a farm, a set or a vineyard. It will be a very inspiring and enriching experience for the audience as I will be able to portray their energy, passion and their working style.
How do you think you can add value to the show?
I consider myself as a very unique person and as part of this uniqueness I have allowed my work to speak for me. I will bring transparency and my passion for work, which will reflect during my interactions with these esteemed personalities on So Kool.
Your website says “Theatre is my mother and cinema my father”. Where would you put TV then?
I think I will find a new relation with TV, that is, of a sibling. I share a special bond with my brothers, Sandeep and Sandesh. But you know, it’s not right to differentiate performances in the three media because if we make a distinction in the performances then it would be something like differentiating amongst my family members.
How’s the shooting of Fear Factor going on in South Africa? How is it working with Akshay Kumar?
It’s going on fine. It’s tough but I’m enjoying myself. Since the shooting is still going on, we are not permitted to talk much about it.
